I think that Fred and George behind their comical facade are the most reliable and caring (lack of a better word) people in the entire series. They sincerely care about their families and friends. And their jokes were always good natured, only to make people laugh, not to make people laugh at someone. They are deeply concerned for their family, and are fiercely loyal. Especially after Percy turned on the family. They take great concern for their sister and even Ron, although they like to tease them both. Fred and George know what is going on in their family's lives, and I wouldn't be surprised if they give much of their new found fortune to their family especially their mother and father. I think their devotion to their family and Harry will come into play in the 7th book. Possibly with all their new inventions but they are two characters who are seen only as jokesters.
I know this is random but I like to get that out in the universe. I think they are underestimated characters in the series.
