Flitwick - Change of appearance?

Hey all!

This has been bugging me for a while... Has the appearance of Flitwick changed since the first movie? Is the professor, who Hagrid stabs with a fork, is that Flitwick?

Yup, the small guy Hagrid stabbed is Flitiwick with a new look. He had undergone a radical change since Cuaron took over for the 3rd movie.

I read it in the wikipedia article about Flitwick's new look.

He is. Apparently. I was just confused because they changed his appearance and thought it would be fun to not make it obvious.

oh my god! he does! god, I can never watch that movie again, lol. But why did they change his appearance? Did the director have some kind of mental break?? I mean come on!!! Ah I'm angry, I mean I didn't even know it was meant to be Flitwick and to think they're both the same actor I'm just....why? Isn't it enough Dumbledore had to change? At least they hadto change AD for a reason.

During the first two films, Flitwick is an old half-goblin with a big white moustache. In the third film, this same character does not appear, although Warwick Davis plays another different character, a short human with brown hair and moustache, not very similar to the Flitwick in the previous movies. This character, the chorus conductor, is identified in the credits as "Wizard" and not Flitwick. Davis was hired because Flitwick had no role in the story, but the producers wanted him nonetheless. The character reappeared in the fourth movie, with the same make-up and still being the conductor, although in a speaking role. His make-up was not returned to that of the first and second because Mike Newell, director of the fourth, liked the younger-looking Flitwick better. He was not named in the movie, but was seen eating at the staff table and called Hagrid an idiot after accidentally stabbing him in the hand while being distracted by Madame Maxime. He was identified in the credits as "Filius Flitwick," suggesting that Flitwick is also a music conductor. His role as conductor was again featured in the fifth movie, but this time identified as "Professor Flitwick".

Yeah, it took me a while to catch on too.

Personally, I like the first Flitwick better.

But at least we know they have a music department at Hogwarts. *Hogwarts* is saving the music. The same can't be said of American Schools.

I prefer the first Flitwick too, he seemed to fit into Hogwarts more. I can't remember, how was he described in the books?

White hair, very short, with a dash of Goblin blood, and I think that is about it. I will include this quote though...

I got the quote from the HP Lexicon and I'm not sure where it was from. I do think the first movie!Flitwick looks like a goblin and the second one looks like a serial killer.

When I write Flitwick, who is one half of my new obsession, I picture him as a short wizard, with white, crazy hair, and a big beard. Sort of like the first movie!Flitwick only less goblin-like.
