I have this 2.5 hour class (very boring) that just happens to allow students internet access. I need some new fan fiction ideas. I would prefer they would be on fanfiction.net as the site layout makes it look like I am doing research. I prefer longer stories, not slash, and not any non canon pairings except for MMAD of course and Fred/Angelina. I also prefer not to read about Snape unless it is negative. Has any one read any good stories lately? Thanks!

You might try Melindaleo's The Seventh Horcrux. It is very good and is her take on the seventh book which was written before DH came out. She hit the nail on the head several times and her Snape is definitely a baddy.
A Tabby and Her Kit is a cute, older story, of Minerva adopting Harry and raising him. Some MMAD in it.
Hogwart's Duo's Let Me Introduce You and One Dance at a Time are excellent, as are all of their stories.
Dicere's After the Battle is wonderful. Lots of ADMM.
KEDme's Shadow of the Serpent is really good too. The prophecy at the beginning of it is rather a stunning poem.
Death Before Dishonor by Robin4 is one of the earlier stories I read on FF.net and is still one of my favorites.
Gramarye's The Legacy of the Light is a combination of Harry Potter and Susan Cooper's The Dark is Rising Series. Very well done.
Jocelyn's Harry Potter and the Battle of Wills is super great. Minerva is married to a character named Murdo McGonagall in it, but it works very well. It is the only one I have really found that I like, where she and Albus are not involved.
Some other authors you might want to visit are: Jocemum, Jocelyn, Bad Mum, Jestana, Laume, LinZe, Darkmoore, Snuggle the Muggle, the Velvet Ghost, and Ginger Newts.
Hope this gives you some ideas.

I can't believe no one's mentioned Resolving a Misunderstanding by MMADfan! It's one of the best fanfics I've ever read.
Also, check out Athena G's Glimpse the Tempest. It's a phenomenal fic.

If you don't mind kid-fics, I've got one at ffnet called "What if?" about Albus and Minerva's son Brian (born 29 Feb 1960, but in the same year as HP). I'm dmf1984 over there as well (since I'm too old to remember more than a few screen names!!  ) Cheers, Di |
