Blasts were also reported on buses. Eyewitnesses said the top was ripped off a double-decker bus near Russell Square close to King's Cross train terminal.
The london underground has been hit too. There are over 90 people wounded and several dead.
We have board members who are currently in london- and I have several friends who live there who would be taking the underground to get to work. If any one has a way of getting ahold of our Headmistress and Rikki to see if they are ok, could they please do so?
Prayers & hopes that everything is ok.

OK peeps just to confirm There have been 7 blasts in total 6 underground and one on a bus: King's Cross tube station Liverpool St station Edgware Rd Aldgate East Moorgate and Russell Sq Tavistock is where the bus was i believe.
At the moment there are 2 confirmed Dead with hundreds injured, some seious, others not. There is a rescue operartion underway in one of the tubes near King's cross where it is believed there is another train with many more injured and possible dead.
It has been confirmed that it is a series of terrorist attacks that have been undertaken to paralyse the capital. I'll keep you all posted as and when info comes in.
Lies is currently on holiday in Scotland so is at the other end of the country so is pretty safe I should Imagin, but if you want i'll try txting her to make sure.

Lies is currently in Scotland with her family on Holiday. She and RIkki will not be in London till later in the summer. If anyone, no matter nationality, needs to talk I'd be more than willing to lend an ear. If on the net, www.bbc.com then click on their news will be the best place for information. Christy

Ok guys just got back home and thought a report from England might be more accurate. I live in Coventry a few miles from London and it was awful here alone panic, fear all the trains and buses were shut down. So far 45 have been accounted as dead and so many injuries it’s unbelievable. Tony Blair (For once has stopped being a fool and is actually doing something) believes the attack was from Al Qaeda and was mostly centred on the G8, but for the now the attacks have definitely been proven as some kind of terrorist one. But I guess some claim for it will come in soon.

My God, it is so horrendous. There are no words for it.
I simply can't believe this spirale of violence. It seems as if one act, draws the next and then the next act comes and it all seems to be about revenge for something and nobody even really knows for what. It is so horrible....
And to think that i should have been in London today with 30 ogf my students...using the tube for them to explore London on their own and go shopping....My God, it could have been us and the kids... My God
Was that fate?
My heart is with all those, who suffered and are still suffering. Those who lost a loved one.
What has the world come to....

Keep checking in, kids. I want to hear from every board member in the UK.
I wasn't in NYC four years ago when we got hit, but even now you can feel the effects so I sympathize with the panic in London.
Sue, I'm very glad to hear that your trip didn't go over and you weren't there today. The same thing happened here four years ago, a whole lot of people were late getting on their trains and getting to work and escaped the attack. I'd say it was fate and I'm glad it smiled on you today.
Corny though it may be, my thoughts are with everyone in London, the surrounding areas, or who has friends and family in London. Keep on letting us know you're okay. (Americans, if you get it BBC-America is still showing the BBC News. Best source of info today.)

Ok Peeps, Just been listening to BBC news. The latest death toll is 37, with hundreds injured... that number is currently unknown. The next few days is going to be very difficult for all the people in the capital, and i ask everyone to keep them in there thoughts and pray's. Lies is very well she's in London and sent me this messege:- I'm OK, i'm not in London, i'm in Scotland and totally OK it's cool, am only going to London next month, thanks for worrying though Will make sure i survive X Lies

Right, Lies is ok, thankfully she's far away from London. And I'm too. We're only going next month, but thanks for worrying, Taylor. A friend had the idea of lighting a candle tonight at 10pm GMT+1, to remember those who had to die and set a sign against terrorism. I like the idea. Perhaps some of you want to join in. Love, Rikki

People from London or around, please let us know if you're alright.

It's so horrible... I'm shocked, even though you have been warned and such that something like this could happen... It just leaves you in a uncomfortable stupor. It's scary Denmark's on the list too, I think along with Italy... Pal

I didn't have the news on today, so I only heard at the end of the afternoon when I was checking my flist on LJ.
It's strange, in the back of your mind you know something like this can happen, but when is does, it's shocks you so much. My thoughs are witht he victims and relatives of the people that were injured.
It's good to see people checking in, telling they're alright.

Hey Taylor, thanks for your concern, but I'm about as far away from London as I could be at the moment - in China. So I'm fine. Still concerned about friends in london, though, as have not heard yet.
And Chinese censors bloc BBC news online, so that's no good.
I was in a panic last night about it, phoned home to UK and mum was very stoic. Reminded me that I had grown up hearing about explosions and IRA bombings in London and the rest of the UK. And that during the Blitz, people had lived with this fear every day and had survived. I think that all Londoners will stick two fingers in the air at al quaida, yell a big "f U" and carry on.
Excuse my temporary patriotism (it will wear off in a couple of days), but it ain't known as GREAT Britain for nothing.
Bollocks to terrorists!!!!

I have heard from my friend Lau, who lives in London, he said he is in Southern london, and is ok, but his friend who worked at the bridge is in the hospital and he discribed it as *a state of emergency*
a little over 4 yrs ago I was dx with cancer and made the decision to go to england to visit a friend for 10 days. It was interesting, and- well, yes they had bombings in the underground at that time as well, and we watched them rip apart a car looking for a bomb while we waited for a bus and the next day a jet flew over head and i asked what was going on and she said "Oh we are bombing (insert country) today, and she was so - calm about living next to a fule dump, and I was back in the states on October 11th, and I flew into Newark airport and saw the twin towers (I had seen them many years before on a field trip and it was scary how much glass was in the building.) I met my brother at the airport and we chatted about the upcoming wedding of my niece / his daughter and then I came home to the daily grind,
and on Sept 11th, my niece was using her cell phone to call her husband to be to do things, take the dry cleaning in, pick up the mail from the apartment, check to see the shoes fit, and if he had remembered to check the flight for his brothers and my brother for that day as my brother was coming in from Colorado and his brothers were coming in from ca. for the wedding which was to be on the 15th.
and with each call, he was later, and later for work, and by the time he made it, he paid the taxie driver and heard a noise and looked up and saw the plane hit the wtc on the floor where he worked, and he said to himself, "I guess I won't be going to work today..."
for two days we didn't know if he was living, or dead. My niece kept saying over and over, that time wise he couldn't have reached the wtc because he had been delayed so many times.
My brothers girlfriend had taken the day off to help with the wedding plans and she happened to call her friends who worked with her at the wtc to let them know she would be meeting them for lunch when the phone went dead. She couldn't get the connection back, and by chance she turned on the tv and saw the news, and she said she just- collapsed on the floor.
My brother was in colorado when my niece called him on his cell and told him what had happened and he was able to get the last rental car in colorado with 4 others in his company and they drove non stop, and he made it home the day before the wedding.
My Niece and her husband to be sat down after hugging for a long time and they talked about how this changed their life- they had planned to go to austraila for the honeymoon, but that wasn't important and they had to decide, with the world being uncertain, would they should they get married? and the answer was yes. While he had no job, nor any way of getting a recomendation for a job as everyone he knew was gone and the company that he had his investments were gone- it didn't matter. they also decided kids first, house later.
today they are blessed with two beautiful daughters. Life continued for them, for their familys and friends.
They could have called off the wedding, or, postponed it, but, I am glad they didn't. it was the last time that our family was together in celebration. Two weeks later my nieces aunt passed away from breast cancer. two years after my dad died of lung cancer.
You have to go on you see- you could hide, but that doesn't solve anything. The most effective way of fighting what is happening in the world is to understand why it happens, and try to see why the others feel as they do.
Shortly after 911, mybrother in laws aunt came to visit from belfast, and the fire whistle sounded and she dove under the dinner table. No one laughed- they appologized as they had forgotten to let her know it sounds at 6 pm to let the local workers know the shifts end.
I can only hope that those we love, whom we care for are safe and sound, and all the others, who feel they do things for the ones they love, to understand that all of this has to end, for those we love together.
I know it may seem easy to do the what if's and almosts and you can drive yourself nuts with that- I did it for several years with my cancer, and the worry can do more harm than solving problems. What happens, happens. One day at a time. One hour at a time, one moment at a time. It is all that one can ask for.

Yeah ... I tried texting her again about an half an hour ago, and her mobile seems to be shut off. But I hope that's just because the lines broke down or because of her schedule and she'll answer later today ... I'll let you know as soon as I know anything !!

I'm worried about her too. From what I've heard the network in London is down, so you probably won't be able to reach her on her cell phone.
I checked her LJ, but I'm not on her flist, so it's possible she made a 'friends-locked' entry.
I really hope she's alright and checks in soon.

cammie had said that she would not have internet access for a while, so she may not know that we are trying to get ahold of her. if the cell system is down it could be days before the messages get through. just- keep trying every so often, England is five hours ahead of the usa, so, its almost 3 there now. Her phone may be charging up, or she may be out of range-
Is there anyone else that we know isn't reporting in? Foci mentioned Mugglemin being in england.
I heard from my friend Lau in london, and he said his friend was released from the hospital today, and took the underground home (packed as usual!) he said over 50 dead and 700 wounded. its not fair, really- for what is going on. Maybe there is a voldemort?
have faith-

As far as I can see she left denmark on the 4th or 5th, and was going to visit her sister in Oxford, and then go to budapest with her parents. I know she said that she wouldn't have internet connections for 5 weeks, so unless she has her cell phone, chances are she is out of reach for that time. We can only wait. I don't know if her parents are going- but I don't see them just putting a 14 yr old on a plane by herself. I don't know how far oxford is from london, but she would have had to have been on the train just at that moment, and unless her sister was taking her sightseeing- I don't know. We may have a while to wait, and in the mean time we will keep Cammie in our thoughts and prayers. Taylor

She went to Oxford alone, as far as I know. She's doing some kind of theatre course there. But she's got her mobile on her. I know that because we already texted each other ... And she's staying in Oxford for three weeks and then going to Hungary for two weeks with her family.
