My dad has been sick for a long time (since i think the beginning of may), and at first they thought he had ALS. But two nights ago, a doctor came while I was working on my homework, and they called me downstairs. My dad was walking up and down the hallway without his cane, walker, or help from anyone! I haven't seen him do that in a long time! It means he is able to use his muscles more now! I don't know if this would fall under announcements or any category, but it was really special for my family.

Wow! That's wonderful news for your family and especially your dad. Miracles happen every single day and I'm glad your Dad is able to move about more freely.
All the best to your family! Ang & Lisa

thats great news! There will still be good and bad days with any long term illness- and the drs while we think they have the answers, don't always. Please keep the faith, all things happen for reasons we don't even begin to understand.

thanks taylor, nerwenial! dad has his good and bad days but the bad days are occuring less now! while i don't always understand i know that there is a reason behind everything, but i do know my family has become closer during this time than ever before. i have a few 1/2 siblings, and i have heard from them more often now and they come to see dad even more which is great for him. my family is keeping their fingers crossed and praying for the best. thank y'all so much!

what exactly did this dr do when he came to visit? you didn't say. and what type of dr was he? I know there is something call CFS v, and it may mimic MS & ALS and it is one of those shadowy illnesses that everyone has in their bodies, it just takes something to trigger it for it to happen. My sister was dx with it, and was in and out of the hospital for months and she was the one who read about it, told the dr and tested positive for it. www.cdc.gov/ncidod/diseases/cfs/taylor

the dr was a family friend, i would classify him as an everyday doctor who you see when you need a medical check up before you can join a sports team, etc. he had come to say hi and give dad a regular check up. thanks for the info. i'll have to research it some. I hope your sis is ok. thanks so much, brigid
sry about not responding earlier, quarter finals at school.
