My heart goes out to the family and friends of all of the victims of the Virginia Tech shootings, and of the victims of violence throughout the world. It certainly puts life in perspective.

I was just going to post this. It is the Deadliest Mass shooting in the US.
There are 32 or 31 dead, and 29 injured.
When I first saw this news, I was shocked. Completly shocked. I hope nobody here is affected by this.

It really does make one wonder what horrible anger could corrupt a person to do such a thing. My neighbor goes there so if you all could keep him in your thoughts and prayers along with me i'd appreciate it.

My heart goes out to all those who have been affected by such a tragedy and to those who know people who have been affected. I live in California, but I do know people that either live in Virginia or used to live there and I hope, for everybody involved, that people will see this and learn not to ignore small problems because they can turn out to be even bigger than you might expect.

I drove by my campus tonight on my way home and tried to imagine how I would feel if something like the shootings at V Tech happened at OSU. I can't even imagine how they can carry on after this. I have been praying for all the Hokies today, but also their families and the Blacksburg community as well.

Sniff. I pray for all those who are affected. Even though I live halfway round the world, my friend lives in the USA. I can never go back to my school if such a thing happens... I hope nothing like this ever happens again.

my entire capus ha been on edge since yesterday evening. And we're a pretty small, all girls school, so the lkkely hood of this happening s low, but everyone is a bit freaked. Thankfully we have a decent plan in place, adn the administratio is checking it over just in case, but it's still kinda scary

I can't say how sorry I am. I teach at a university myself. We live in a different part of the world but we all pray for the vicitms' families and friends.

It's impossible to imagine that sort of thing happening to yourself, until, of course, it does. I can't imagine being the parent that drives up to the college campus, to find their child was one of the 32 victims. We have tighter gun laws here in the UK, apparently one in four Americans own a gun - is it necessary? It's certainly scary. I hope no-one here is directly effected. a sad Cranky Cauldron

The shootings hit us pretty hard in North Carolina (directly south of Virginia). The sad thing is, it can happen anywhere and that we really have no idea how to prevent it from happening again, since the US citizens care more about how something would affect them if we added more protection than to think ahead and see how this would change the future.

I know this is a little late, but I feel sorry for them. Did anyone here how that Fred Phelps and his "cult" wanted to go protest at the funerals of the students? According to him, "Colleges teach that being gay is ok, so this is god's punishment, so they deserved to die." Barf. He didn't only because some radio talk show host bribed him with free air time if he didn't go.

It never ceases to amaze me how disgusting human beings can be towards each other.
