Albus or Minerva

I voted Albus, because he just rocks I'd wait till I'm 80 if it means I can then marry a guy like him!

And I still think it's true that there are a lot more MM's in the world than AD's. Sorry! But that's probably why everyone loves her so much - she reminds them of their favourite teacher.

Much as I love canon Albus, I have to vote Minerva. I'm British, we always go for the underdog! Albus gets plenty of words dedicated to him by JK, Minerva is far less developed - we only catch glimpses of her character - but we love what little we see!

Plus, there is an Albus in every fantasy novel, he is the teacher, the grandfather, the wise, impartial, generic, safe man who guides the young hero with prosaic words and sage glances and whose death is the catalyst for our young hero to 'come-of-age'. It's your classic folk tale formula.

Minerva is much more of a mystery, admittedly she also fills some of the standard cliches; the strict disciplinarian who provides boundaries, the bad cop to Albus's good cop, BUT I think there is more scope for change and exploration in her character than in Albus's, especially since the latter is predictable - to a certain extent.

Don't get me wrong, I adore Albus - otherwise I'd be writing Minerva/Severus or other horrifying pairings!

But Min, always Min, womyn need all the adoration they can get! LOL

Well I like both, but Minerva are the best..
She's warm and cold at the same time, and I guess it's just the aura around that makes her
so perfect, in some ways..
I don't know I just like her personality better than Albus..

I voted for Albus, although it was a close call... I believe that the Giant Squid plays a vital role :-P

Before reading DH (don't worry, no spoilers), I would have picked Minerva. Clearly because she's seventy kinds of awesome, and she's the kind of woman I'd like to be later in life. But Albus - most especially considering the revelations in DH - makes me smile and flail and cry and laugh and wibble, for reasons that I can't put into words and I hope someone else will in the near future. Yet Minerva invented scores more different types of awesome in DH, so, really, they're evenly matched.

However. The giant squid? Incomparable. ;D

Because she reminded me of my kindly old American friend from Florida, who acts as grandmotherly as her. Also, I have hanged around with adults for so long as I can remember, I could have another grown-up like Minerva for intellectual and exciting conversations.
