I've used Catriona as I said before but I admit I am warming to Grace. It's pretty. And Catherine Mary is quite nice too as is Athena Rose. And because I seem to have an obsession with the name 'Catriona' I also like Catriona Mary. (Mary is my mum's name. lol. And I adore the name Catherine and Catriona is its gaelic form so its great too!). (My friend and I were discussing our future children's names despite the fact it's highly doubtful we'll have kids any time soon. Maybe in a decade or so. 28 is a nice age.) lol. For boys I like Jacob (it has such a nice ring to it). And wierdly I like Marcus as well. Marcus McGonagall...hmmm....well I like it. lol

Personally I think Eleanor would be perfect. I am not quite sure why, but I always imagined Min's daughter to be names Eleanor. I agree, Eleanor does sound like a name suitable for Minervra's child. But since we're speaking about McGonagall AND Dumbledore's child should we assume the surname will be Dumbledore? I think the name Evelyn is very beautiful. Evelyn Dumbledore.... Hmm... It doesn't really sound as nice as I thought it would.

I think Evelyn sounds nice. Evelyn and Eleanor. Very pretty, they could have two daughters! They wouldn't have to use Albus's last name...esp if the marriage was a secret. It would make since to use Minerva's name instead.

It would make since to use Minerva's name instead. Interesting if they were to have two daughters, maybe each one would take a different surname. So one would be a Dumbledore while the other being a McGonagall. Even if their marriage were to be kept a secret I think the child(ren) would still take the surname Dumbledore.

I came up with two names not mentioned here before when writing my first fanfic. I chose "Aimée" (pronounced as the French would) for a girl meaning "beloved", which I think is rather cute, and I did some research to come up with a boy's name finally choosing: Tait Iagan.
Tait is of old norse origin and its meaning is cheerful/happy, while Iagan is a rather uncommon Scottish name meaning "the little fiery one". I guess that any son of Albus and Minerva would be cheerful like his dad and fiery like his mom! Iagan would also fit in with Minerva's Scottish background.

I like Aphrodite - it goes with the "A" pattern (Albus, Aberforth, Arianna) and is the name of a goddess, like Minerva's is (although Aphrodite is Greek).

Oh, Athena ... *head crashes into wall* I like either Ariana, or Kendra (or whatever his mum's name was). And if it was a boy, probably Gellert after Albus's "best friend." And if the marriage was a secret (except that they are so living in filthy, squalid, licentious SIN, people! SIIIIIN! Wake up and smell the fornication!) I think that the kiddies would have hyphenated names. And there'd be really cute (or perhaps not so cute) war of DOOM over the names. Awwww...

Hmm, I think everything depends on the skill of the writer, really, and on the Mary Sue factor of said kid. While Athena is, by now, pretty much the most cliché name ever in our fandom, I'm sure some people could write ADMM call their daughter that and make it into a good story. I don't really mind about what the child is named - as long as it isn't something completely unrealistic - anyway, I think most things depend on how the fic is written. That said, I don't quite know whether Albus and Min would go for a real 'classic' name... Katharine, for example (ignore my stubborn spelling it with 'a', I've been Hepburnized), or Emma... or a more mythical name. I called their daughter Amelia once... a very 'normal'-sounding name starting with A. I rathed like that idea .

I voted other as well, I thought all of those names were either a little cliched or didn't sound quite right. Eleanor Grace McGonagall is amazing though, and I really like the name Eve as well for some reason. But only if she had the suname Dumbledore though, I think.

Umm, I voted for Athena, but that has become sort of chiche, lol ... I'm starting to wish I'd chosen other, but Athena fits in marvellously. I've written a fanfic on ADMM's daughter and she's called Mia Ariana Dumbledore (though originally I planned something really stupid and big like Mia Diana Minerva McGonagall Dumbledore, lol, I quickly regained my senses) I like Mia cuz it's a simple name and - M for Minerva I for well, you know, 'I' as in myself... A for Albus Fits in as well as Athena does. I imagine Diana would be Minerva's sister, though Catriona is nice too. Cheers!
