Hmm I noticed there were no threads like this, so I thought I would give it a go! It's only girls names because I didn't feel like doing boys names

I dunno, I put other because none of these struck me.
oh and I have to ask a question; Why would anyone name their child Ophelia? Have they ever actually read Hamlet? She's a pretty pathetic character, really. Why not Beatrice, or any of the other intereesting Shakesperean women. sorry, I just had to throw that out there. End of random rant

I checked other just because those names are all used in fanfic a lot yet they seem, to me anyway, to be a bit cliche. And I agree with misshoneychurch88, Ophelia is a rather pathetic character. Plus, Beatrice is one of my fav shakespeare characters...

I went for other too.. Although Athena would seem to fit with the A from the Dumbledore side (Albus/Aberforth) and obviously Athena is Minervas Greek counterpart. It just doesnt seem to fit right though for me. I really have no idea what names they would pick

I also put other because I never have any idea what anyone would pick. My boyfriend's sister just had a baby (their 6th) and named Theophilus!

I said other because there are many, many more possibilties under that banner. Mr Hall, the Head of the Maths Department at my school, had a baby boy last year and he was called Theo. I think that was short for Theodore rather than Theophilus though...

lol. I knew it was from the Bible, but Adam and I had to look it up when they called. In the first verse of Acts, Luke addresses Theophilus saying "In my former book, Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach..." (NIV) and then in the third verse of Luke, he calls him "excellent" Theophilus and says he is writing so that Theophilus can be assured of the things he's been taught. He sounds like a pretty important guy.
I just got a new Bible, it's a Women of Faith study Bible. It's so hard for me to switch over (I've been using my teen study Bible since it helps me prepare for being a counselor at camp, but at 24 I was ready for a new one), so I have been carrying the new one with me everywhere, making notes, highlighting verses, and familarizing myself with it. It's kind of neat to start fresh.

Hmm... While I believe Anthea is a good name, I think it won't be that suitable for a child of McGonagall and Dumbledore...
I read the bible, but it's been so long. I love most of the names from there, especially the boys' names. Although I have to say names and stories from Buddhist scriptures intrigue me more.

I need a new Bible too...I have one my parents gave me when I was 12 that I love because I've made so many notes in it and I have one from the military hospital that my dad used to work at, but it's too small to write in so I have to use both even though I prefer the translation in the smaller one. gah. I just need to suck it up and pick out a new one.
And to stay on topic...Anthea just seems so over the top. I know that's odd because their names are Albus and Minerva, but I think something like Jane or Emma would be more appropriate.

Personally I think Eleanor would be perfect. I am not quite sure why, but I always imagined Min's daughter to be names Eleanor.

On the Mins middle name thread Truly amused suggested it should be Grace. Thinking about it I decided that would be a great name for their daughter too. I think it would go with McGonagall or Dumbledore.. :-)
