Lol. That's because fluff is really the dark side. It's addictive.

I beg your pardon Min.... Who is it that has posted 2 fluff fics in 2 days???
(yes I know before you say it, so have I) I'm glad you're not still mad at me about that btw :-)
Oh and I'll help protect you from Elo and Sprinkles... Jaye :-)

It would be so cool and unbelievably exciting if they were together though. I would just die. There would be major squeeing going on. Jaye, you would probably be able to hear me from the states. lol

I'm going to find Sprinkles to backme up with her baseball bat. I'm being outnumbered.
I know, if they were together I really will scream I'll be so happy.

Although I want to believe they're together, I can't, really. I think at the most they're everything but married. And at the least your two's horrible theory. It's sad to think of. Sprinkles dear can I borrow your baseball bat after you? Sprinks has a baseball bat?? Alas, I'm sure that Childminerva and I are right; JK will not mention our ship in DH, much as we would wish it.. Angsty theories feed fanfiction! You know you love us reeeally... lol! [a-very-British-CC-wondering-if-a-baseball-bat-looks-like-a-rounders-bat,-only longer..?] ;D

Angsty theories feed fanfiction?! Nooo Romance feeds fanfiction because we all want them together. I think I'd rather they weren't mentioned at all than to be told they aren't together because at least then I can still pretend they were together but Harry never found out so neither did we. Or something. Now about that baseball bat.... I agree 100%!!

The Harry-is-too-thick-to-notice theory is a good one...
and yes...Sprinks does have a baseball bat...she came at me with it after I wrote Poppy/Pomona angst and made Sprout cry...
(Your descriptions about the bat are pretty accurate)

Ahh BUT if it was easy to envision them getting together we wouldn't have enough material to create such an enduring ship! Angsty romance then? After all, don't we all love it when they do/don't get together? Isn't the UST the best bit of writing? Of course we have to get them together.. but don't we make it as difficult and heart-wrenching as we can? And don't we admittedly love breaking them up just so that we can get them back together again...? And as for the bat; I'm suddenly very glad my nearest neighbours are sheep...

I AM COMING AFTER YOU, MIN!!! YOU HAD BETTER WATCH OUT! AND DON'T EXPECT JAYE TO SAVE YOU EITHER! SHE MAY BE SCARY BUT I HAVE BACKUP TOO!
*gives spare bat to Elo*
I can't believe you WANT them to be miserable! How can you take two lovely, wonderful, hardworking, deserving people and wish them to cry themselves to sleep each night? How could you!?! Horrible, simply horrible.
I agree that the best stories are the ones where the get together after a period of doubt and anguish, but the focus of that is THEY GET TOGETHER! lol I guess I just don't get angst. Everytime I try to write it, it ends up with some kind of happy ending, even if it is just in my head. I can't leave them feeling hurt and upset. It's too cruel.
I'm off to write some fluff to make me (and Elo) feel better...

hehe...my methods work every time!
Talk about angsty fics and Mona rushes off to write fluff!!! I am a genius.
*dodges bat*
I don't want them to be miserable, but angst can be so poignant. *goes off to watch angsty Bill/Laura vids...cries*

I'm off to write some fluff to make me (and Elo) feel better... *Waves baseball bat around like a mad woman* I think I can deal with angsty romance, where they do get together, where they are apart for certain lengths of time. But sometimes it's just dragged out for much too long. Pure, teeth-rotting fluff is the best.

But sometimes it's just dragged out for much too long. Pure, teeth-rotting fluff is the best. Angst without purpose just bugs the hell outta me - sure lets see them suffer - but only if there's a reward in it! I read for pleasure after all, not agony! At the same time, fluff without purpose bugs me too - unless it's a one-off, in which case - bring it on! - and gives me toothache. Basically, none of you should read Nouveau! Though, now I think on it.. the rest of my fics are pure unadulterated fluff. Oh dear! Stabbed in the back by my own fics! How will I ever live it down? LOL

Lol. Well, fluff is generally better as a oneshot and I think chapter fics always have a story and I would say that was more romance then, really. What's angst without purpose, though? See, you love fluff really. You're just in denial

Must... make.. appointment... with.. therapist...If romance is classified as a chaptered fic that has angsty elements but ultimately ends with them together - then I suppose I'm a fan of romance...? lol Final chapter of Nouveau will be finished soon (a very long fic I've not updated in *blushes* years) and I've (courtesy of these posts) no longer any idea what genre it fits into! Though the fluff may blow, the angst eats it whole, for brekkie, with grapefruit... and cheerios...

*Doesn't need a baseball bat as has a stare that can reduce grown men to tears* (well almost)
Don't worry Min, if we stick together we'll win in the end.
That being said, I do have a bit of a weakness for angsty romance and I do agree with CC, a little UST makes for a great fic.
Even though all I seem to be able to write at the moment is fluffy I am still angsty at heart. I have a particular fondness for post HBP angst at the moment, nothing like a grieving Minerva :-) (put that bat down Sprinkles)
I have to say though, I agree with whoever said that they don't think JK will mention our ship in DH. So we can all go on believing. :-)

Well it's subjective isn't it. I would class a romance fic where it's not very angsty as romance as opposed to fluff. And angst I would class as ones where they are apart... post-HBP, 'can only be friends' thing etc. Saying that, a really angsty romance could still be angst - Not Yet is a good example. I don't know anymore either. It depends.

After reading everyone's comments I'm afraid to voice my opinion! lol From the books I have to admit that I *don't* see them being together for years and certainly not married. It just doesn't fit. I think it's far more likely that Minerva's in love with Albus but it's unrequited. He's a busy man after all with the weight of the world on his shoulders, even if he did have feelings for her he'd never admit to them ... But that's what fanfic and ADMMers are for! Right..? *gulp* aphelion

That's about as cruel as CC's theory. *Cries* But entirely possible *Cries some more*
I think it will end up being one of those theories, the mean ones. Which is sad, but in character. But they could have just had a reltionship *nods*.
Leave me in my happy denial, I like it here.
You know, when DH doesn't mention their relationship at all we'll have to write to JKR.

It could happen...

I'm sorry, but the feminist in me has to come out and steal the baseball bat currently in circulation to batter Aphelion with..! Is Albus so amazing and superb that Minerva can't help but be in love with him, forever? Whilst I agree they're probably not married, and probably not in a long-term relationship (although, that is just possible!) I totally disagree with the idea of lapdog Min! Just consider HBP and OotP where Albus constantly hounds Harry about how his greatest weapon against ol' Voldy is love! If he did have feelings for Min, he would say something - sometime! Um, okay, I'm digressing - my point was; Albus is just a man, a man who can be killed *sobs*, stop putting him on a pedestal where he's untouchable, and Minerva on the ground, giving him a pedicure! *Ah-hem* Okay, nobody panic - this is all part of this debate Aphelion and I have been having for months.. LOL Elo - I'm waaay less angsty than Aphelion - I think they're both in love with each other... they're with you by that river in Egypt, you know the one.. ;D

Oh good, thank you dear It's nice, everyone come for a party! I actually agree more with you CC, because I although I agree with Albus not admitting hsi feelings, I also agree with the love bit. Because, well, that's my favourite HBP line and it stopped me crying for a moment 'Dumbledore would have been happier than anybody to think that there was a little more love in the world'. It's just a pity she called him Dumbledore, really, but I can explain that away. *Nods* I did once on here anyway. But it's about company, place and context. I.e. they're in the company of those who don't know about their secret relationship so she calls him Dumbledore.

I never really thought about them as a couple after reading the books to be honest! It's only when I started reading fanfiction that I saw them as a possible romantic pairing and even though I have since become a stern Albus and Minerva shipper I don't think that there will be any revelations about a relationship of any kind between them in DH. But I didn't see Tonks/Remus coming either so ...

I.e. they're in the company of those who don't know about their secret relationship so she calls him Dumbledore. Actually, Elo, I agree! Although I'm still more sold on the UST thang than the established relationship... but I can just see Minerva being a thousand times stricter on herself than she is on the students, she knows she has a job to do, and so she does it. She knows there is a face that she is expected to show to to the school and the public - especially in the face of Albus' death, and so she does. Calling him Dumbledore, rather than Albus, could be seen as an attempt to stay in control of her emotions by using the professional distance created by using the more impersonal form of address. She's not the sort of woman to break down, she the one who takes control, who puts herself second, including her heart; and that is why Albus loves her... Loved her... oh dear, the past tense! I have to stop randomly rambling in these threads! [CC]

Ok, I feel like a bit of an idiot for not knowing, but I have to ask: what does UST mean? Oh dear! UST is what every fic I ever write/start to write/think of writing is based on.. you probably do know it: Unresolved Sexual Tension! Hence RST Resolved Sexual Tension! Gotta love the resolving bit... ;D
