Minerva's Best friend

I think Poppy...just my personal preference for best friend. Though I did write a fic once where Pomona was her close friend, still, I think it would be Poppy.

I can't see anyone as Min's "Best friend." I think she gets along fine with everyone, but doesn't have a really close girl friend.

It's between Xiomara and Poppy for me. But I really do like how it was portayed in Into the Lions Den and stories like that. Like Min, Xiomara, Poppy, and Pomma were all best friends.

I think Poppy is more likely to be Minerva's best friend (Rolanda is quite crazy for her)... however, for me the best answer would be both Poppy and Rolanda. I'm not sure if I see Sprout on the scene as a best friend of the other three.

I think it's Poppy. The way she's always been portrayed...it seems as if the two would get on well.

I have to go with Pomona, but then, I love Pomona, so those who know me won't be surprised.

Really I see Poppy, Rolanda, Pomona, and Minerva as being best friends all together. I have a group of girls that I consider my best friends, so I don't really have a problem with that.

What I like about Pomona for this is that she is the stable one. She would put up with Minerva's temper, be able to laugh at her sober side, and steady her wild streak of Gryffindor guts. I think they would be good for each other.

I can see the four of them sitting together by the fire in the staff room with red wine gossiping. ....not that Min would gossip, well not that she would admit to it anyway. I think it is the 'McDore' fics that have Min,Rolanda,Poppy and Pomona as a little group. I always imagined that.

hmmmm..i like Pomona and Poppy as her best friends, Hooch is probably too much for her and probably couldnt keep a good secret, like her marriage etc..but then there is Albus who is her soulmate...i dunno

Poppy, in my opinion. I have no clue why, but they just seem like they could be friends.

I chose Hooch, simply because McGonagall has been written by JK as having a very healthy, competitive interest in Quidditch, and I can imagine arguments leading to discussions of various House tactics and friendship, or at least familiarity.

But I would be hard put to say 'best friend'. She's a fairly self-sufficient woman, and of course, she has Albus!

I would say Poppy because the first two movies made too big of an impression on me.

But I did get the impression from the books that they're about the same age and share a no-nonsense kind of attitude.

I love the idea of them all in a close group of friends, but the way I write her, Minerva always turns out more solitary. So I can't do that...because I fail. But I do enjoy reading fics with the four of them as close friends.

I've never really given much thought to this one actually. I know in my fic 'An Unexpected Alliance' that I've made her and Pomona very close; but you can also tell that she and Rolanda and Poppy are also close. And for some reason I think she'd get along with Snape. I can just see the two exhanging sarcastic comments.

So, after all of that, I'm voting Pomona. Purely because one of the scenes in "Alliance" where Min is ranting, was exactly like a scene that myself and my best friend had that day. She's pretty much the Sprout character *hugs Hayley* lol.

I agree. I think she and Snape kind of have an understanding between them since their personalities are alike. I hate MM/SS shippings along with many people, but I can see them as not really friends, more like rivals who understand each other.

Poppy although I think she is good friends with Rolanda as well. I certainly can not imagine her being best friends with Snape.

Idon't really know... Actually, it depends on what kind of fic I am on... sometimes, antisocial, she has noone but Albus, but most of the time, I'd say: Hooch and Pomfrey as best friends and getting along with the others quite well and, OF COURSE, best-closest friends with Albus and in love with him, and married with him... ;D
