In my other fandoms there usually are a lot of people who fancy at least one of the people involved. And I was wondering if that was the case here.
Feel free to specify on the option you vote for, or not, if you so wish.
As for myself, I started to take more interest in the movies when Michael became Dumbledore (though not because of him), so I do have a soft spot for him. I don't know much about him personally, and though he's been in a lot of movies I've enjoyed, I've never really noticed him before, but he's never been terrible either. He's usually quite funny to be honest, but as I said he doesn't stick out much. Next to Jeremy Irons in Being Julia? Hello!
Having said that there is something about Michael with long hair, long beard and wearing a dress robes which works for me. *shrugs* I donno what exactly, but it's there. That's not to say Maggie and Richard are not pretty people. They were, are and continue to be, but I could not honestly claim to crush on either of them.
And that's me. Anyone else?

Aw, no option for a straight-up Bumbles fangirl? But I do just think Albus and Min fit.

I voted "sometimes" but what I really meant yes - I shamelessly hero-worship Dumbledore, and that probably extends to a considerably silly crush. But not really any of the movie Dumbledores. Just Dumbledore in the books. Which makes it even more ridiculous, but hey, the fanart helps.
I agree that often an attraction to one or both of the characters in a pairing plays a role in 'shipping it (obvious example: slash), but as for myself, it's mainly that I just like May-December romances. That's kinda my thing.

I had considered an options for the characters in the books (I've been know to crush on a book character myself) but decided against because as you can tell, there were all ready quite a few options in other words, I am lazy. Love your icon btw!

Aw, thanks! It's going to be my new one eventually. I just need a banner to go with. Oh, and the web messed up the coloring, so I need to fix that...

That's kinda my thing. A lot of my ships are either May-December or the similarly aged mature people. My youngest ship is R/Hr. Ever. From what I remember anyhow. Slash is something I have never really thought of, but I must confess sometimes the pairings people come up with are most, uhm, interesting. Again, I apologise for not having an option for the characters as is in the books.

Lol. To be honest, I had never thought of them at all, but then I am quite certain I haven't considered even half as many HP ships as there are in canon and fanon. I can be quite unimaginative sometimes.

this is a really interesting topic! I've never thought of it before.
I think I sort of wish that I had someone like Albus ;D and since a lot of us see some of Minerva's qualities in ourselves, we might be drawn to the couple because it's something that we would individually enjoy having for ourselves. As to whether or not I would fancy them, I think I would fancy someone like them, but not necessarilly them. ;D

Albus Dumbledore is my ideal man. Minerva McGonagall is my idea woman. It all makes perfect sense!

I chose they just look cute together. I don't like Dumbledore because....he's not Snape. snape's the only guy I can actually bring myself to like, and even that's wearing off now. And Dumbledore annoys me sometimes so..... And Min just isn't my type. OMG, that sounds so shallow. But she's rather straight laced, and the girls I like tend to be more....giggly. But not in a fangirl kinda way, in a random kinda way, but Min's just too straightlaced for me. I'd have to get her drunk LOL.
I think they're quite perfect together though. I mean the *glances* the *dances* the *hewillnotbesinglehanded* *happysigh*

this is a really interesting topic! I've never thought of it before. I wish I could say the same, but it would be quite untrue. I am quite shallow at times.

Not at all, I just see how perfect they are for each other. It's kind of escapism for me, so easy to think that in a book there is a happily-ever-after for two perfect characters that doesn't really exist.

I have to admit, I don't actually see the tension in their relationship. In canon anyway... Except in the movies. In the books, perhaps if I read them again I might, but I don't have time to do that at present.

I think Maggie Smith plays a huge part in my fandom, just because I think she plays her character so well. My director was telling me the other day what an acomplishment it is to make the audiance walk away from a show going "I think there was something going on between this person and that person", especially if there really isn't a lot of text evidence for support. I think her and Richard Harris played that banter up wonderfully...but Michael Gambon had to come along and ruin it...grr...

I don't think it's entirely Michael's fault. The story is getting more serious and the banter between Minerva and Albus, though fun to watch, would lessen for one reason, they are teachers. If one of their students are being targeted by Voldy, they're not going to have much to laugh about. And secondly, referring to the movies, the books are getting longer, and unfortunately, they have cut out a lot of unnecessary scenes. 'Unnecessary' meaning, anything that does not further Harry's story. I don't see much banter between Minerva and Albus does that but I still hope!

I was reading that part in the books. I was quite disappointed when I read that they didn't dance together. But there were whole chunks of the ball that we didn't see because Harry went for walkies. Okay, I don't remember where he went. I didn't re-read further than that.

I love Minervas character because she is played by Maggie smith ( so want to meet her one day.) and she is a strong independant character.

I preferred Richard to be honest! Michael makes him too dense although he has the wit and humour down just right!
