Me too! Besides, I've decided to just pretend JKR never said it. Or else, look at it logically: JKR paired Hermione with Ron. Is it just me, or would Hermione loathe being with someone who constantly disparages her for loving reading and been smart?

I think so too! I do not like RHr. I mean, it's cute on a fluffy level, but as everyone knows, relationships are about far more than fluff. I always pictured Hermione as going for someone very intelligent, someone who would challenge her intellectually and perhaps have a cooler disposition to complement her powerful emotions. Ron and Hermione are both very emotional and wear their hearts on their sleeves...not a very realistic mix. They would blow up at each other all the time. The only character I ever saw as the ideal match for Hermione was Severus-and thus, a new HGSS shipper was born! But since in canon Snape only ever loved Lily, my shipping must go beyond reality into the world of fanon. Just like ADMM! Okay, I have officially decided. Screw canon HP! I will never go to the "dark side" of weird pairings in the books that make absolutely no sense, like Neville and Hannah Abbott! Long live fanfiction!

And I refuse to let it affect me or my writing. Besides, isn't that the whole point of fanfiction, you write what you want and the pairings you desire? People can read what they like and skip the rest, right?
