Dude, look at this flame review.....
"When will people stop writing child birth scenes?
And songfic is an evil beyond all compare, except maybe mpreg. Yeah, you get extra brownie points for at least avoiding mpreg.
I can't find anything nice to say. Damn."
You know what my first thought is? *thunks him on the head* I mean, stupid! *looks at third line... rolls eyes.. claps hands together near face and smiles* Oh thank you so much, you a**hole, for giving me those brownie points! Cuz, you know, someone who is fixed on writing child birth scenes and writing evil songfics needs them!"
AT LEAST WRITE A REVIEW THAT IS SYNTACTICALLY CORRECT!!!!!!
Okay, am I the only one here who sees this as unreasonable!?

Okay, that dude has some issues. And I bet you feel extra special because he gave you *gasp* BROWNIE POINTS. Oh, joy to the world. An a**hole gave you brownie points. Whoopie, let's have a party. Seriously though, why do people who leave reviews like that even read it through to the end and take the time to tell you it sucks? And, like the old saying goes, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all.

Seriously. Every time I read a fic that I don't like or think sucks, I just don't review. It doesn't pay to have people tell you you suck as a writer. And if that wasn't enough, I tried to help someone on ff.net under the Labyrinth section because there were too many mistakes to count! So I tried to politely help him/her, and they got mad at me! I was just like, "See? This is why I don't usually help people unless they ask for my help! Because then they see it as me trying to be condescending when I'm actually trying to offer honest help!" Grr... ~mmadlyinlove~

I agree -- if I REALLY dislike it, I don't review, particularly if it's only a matter of my own personal preference (a genre, theme, or pairing I don't like).
What I think is particularly laughable about this review is that if the reviewer doesn't like songfics, why is she/he READING ONE? HELLOOO!? I don't like songfics particularly well, so guess what? I tend not to read them. What an idiot that person is, truly. If I read a songfic, I'm not going to review and tell the writer how awful songfics are. Sheesh! If I like a songfic, I might mention that even though I don't usually read or enjoy songfics, I did like that particular one, but, seriously, if you don't like a genre, DON'T read it! There's a "back" button available on all browsers! Does this person deliberately tune into TV shows he/she doesn't like, too? Go to an action movie, pay to see it, then demand their money back because they don't like action movies?
If there are a number of things I like about a story, or if I like a story in general, but there's one thing I didn't like, I might talk about all the things I liked, and then, if I could do it in a nice way, I might mention the thing I didn't like, or if the author is clearly young or inexperienced, or both, I might send a PM with some encouraging concrit suggestions for improving a story that has potential (I'm sure we've all seen writers who we want to encourage to continue writing and improving), but this sort of review leaves me scratching my head. What does it do? What's its purpose? You aren't going to change either that story or what kinds of stories or themes you write as the result of receiving the review, after all.
I'm sure we all have our pet peeves, things we don't want to read about, or pairings we find turn-offs, but I'm sure that there are things I enjoy reading that others find turn-offs and vice-versa. That's the nice thing about not living in a homogenous world; we can read and write what we choose to. Good grief! That reviewer needs to get a life.

If I say what I really think of that reviewer I will say more swear words than one ought to in polite company. Idiot. I just don't get flames like that - no one made you read it ffs! If it were a criticism, or anything that wasn't pointless.
And what's mpreg?

mpreg is male impregnation.. Making a male pregnant, either by a spell or by a potion of sorts..... My friends write it, not me.... Like MMADfan says, I find it a turn off even when they like it.
But I agree with everything MMADfan says.... If I see in the summary something I don't like, I steer clear of it, especially because I know I'm gonna be biased.... Geez, he didn't have to act like that.... He acts as though I'M inexperienced or stupid just because I wrote something he/she didn't like..... Who does that?

People like that shouldn't even read it. If they don't like it SHUT UP! I don't see how people can't like these stories. Everyone on here can write great stories. Well Thats all I have to say.

I just read that review on F.F.Net ... it is, obviously, complete rubbish. The story is just ... excellent. I truly have rarely read an ADMM fic like that. I just don't get why the flamer takes time to even write a flame ... and if you don't like birth scenes then DON'T READ THEM!!!!! I mean , like, duh ...
*Goes away muttering*
