This may be off topic, but I thought it might make an interesting conversation: What types and kinds of music does every like?
I'll listen to almost anything, from Baroque era composers to modern rock. I had to take a music appreciation class last year and fell immediately in love with orchestral music. Then, there's always modern alternative rock. ;D

I love Julie Andrews, as well!! I love Broadway, oldies (50s, 60s, 70s), Glenn Miller from the 40s, I love Crooners like Sinatra and Crosby, I love Josh Groban, Norah Jones, and various others. I listen to a lot, but I do not listen to rap, pop, or hard rock.

Kind of depends on the mood I'm in, but I like Norah Jones, Alanis, The Corrs, Laura Pausini, Phil Collins... and some more
And I *adore* soundtracks. (movie, musical, everything)
Plus I have a long list of songs I think are great, although I don't like the rest of the artist's work.
And I've recenty discovered Radio Arrow Rock Radio. It's great, no endless, pointless chattering, no hip hop, no R&B, no 'girly' music...

My music tastes go all over the place. I mainly listen to rock and heavy metal, but I enjoy classical, celtic, broadway, new age, electronica/dance, and blues (I love Etta James). I'm not a fan of rap, though early rap like Run DMC and Beastie Boys are ok. None of this new stuff.
Some bands/groups I like: Lacuna Coil, Evanescence, Nightwish, Gathering (I have a thing for female fronted bands, I know), Megadeth, Metallica, Slipknot, Secret Garden, Linkin Park, Enya, Loreena McKennitt, Muse, etc, etc.
I also love movie and video game soundtracks. Being an amateur composer myself, my favorite composer and idol is Danny Elfman. I also love Howard Shore, Michael Kamen (who was taken from us much too soon) and of course, the master, John Williams.
Shutting up now.
- April :-)

I pretty much listen to everything but rap. In my opinion, rap isn't music. But, that's my opinion.
I'm really into Celine Dion. She is soooo awesome!! ;D

Besides singing choral hymns and traditional church hymns, some classical composers I really like are Bach and Mozart.
Right now all I have mostly been listening to is my Sound of Music soundtrack. I've driven my family to insanity with that one, oh and my Sister Act soundtrack as well.
From the 60s and 70s I really like Aretha Franklin and some Beatles tunes, especially She Loves You. (the German version is much better than the English though) I know this may really corny, but I also love the Bee Gees. Don't ask why, because I can't give you any explanation. I just like them. I have an oldies CD I always listen to also. That drives my family up a wall as well.
Oh! I 'm so glad I finally have someone who likes Josh Groban and isn't over 50. My grandmother and her sister have to stop whatever they're doing when a song of his comes on the radio. I'm the same way but I can't help it.
Other groups/singers I like are the Crash Test Dummies, Patty Griffin, John Mellencamp, Brooks & Dunn.... My list goes on forever so I shall spare you the rest.
I'm really all over the board when it comes to music as long as it's not rap, pop, or hard rock.
Okay, I am done! *heaves a long sigh*

Okay...now comes the probably oddest taste in music - mine: Favorite singers: Dean Martin, Julie Andrews (hey, I'm driving people insane with my obsession) Yet, I don't own the TSOM-soundtrack yet. Must change that. Bands: ABBA (in case, people have not recognised that at our website), and i truly like the BeeGees. They are great. One of the five best bands of the 20th century. They are incredible. Oh, and I like orchestral music as well, same for organ music. As for classical composers: Bach, Smetana, Haendel, Vivaldi. I can#t stand Mozart though. Dunno why, but it is so... Ah well...maybe, I'm not so odd after all...

hmmm ... I do really like Reamonn (a German band, but they are singing English), Katy Perry ("I kissed a girl" is so genius because of the scandal it produced =), Rosenstolz and Silbermond (another German bands, they are even singing German), Mika (I love "Happy Ending"!).
music for dancing is also very pretty ...
But I also like classic music like mozart, bach, beethoven (not only because they were german =) ... vivaldis "four seasons" are really wonderful ...
And everything that is accompained by a piano because I play the piano. I adore such songs <3

I'm a metal head but I'm open to whatever except, like many others, rap.
Favorites: Metallica, HIM, Nightwish, Nirvana, Within Temptation, Evanesence, Epica, Lacuna Coil, and the occassional My Chemical Romance.
Off topic, but this is a great saying I love using as my siggy: Candy is like Music. For it to be good, you have to remove the wrappers.
