I know this is off topic, but urgent prayers are needed for a very dear friend of mine who underwent surgery on the 11th.
His name is Peter, and he is just 40, and was diagnosed last month with cancer. They opperated on the 11th, and they found that the cancer had spread to his lymph nodes, and that puts him at stage 3. He also has developed an infection, and is not doing well. The drs are talking about light doses of Chemo, but its not because he has just a little bit of cancer, its because he is very frail.
He had a 5% chance of developing this cancer at his age, and the odds of him surviving 5 years, or even a year arn't good at all unless there is some intervention beyond what the drs can do.
While I can't be with him, or his mother who is elderly, just letting her know that others are keeping him in their thoughts and prayers has comforted her greatly.
So if you have a moment, could you please put in a good word for a great friend.
Thanks, Taylor

More news, from what I have learned he just has one node involved, which makes it better odds for survivial, (there is a 65% chance of mortality in the first year with one node involved), but its far better than the 85% that he would have faced if he had no surgery at all for the first year)
we have learned that they have been able to get the infection cleared up, and that he has begun to eat food on his own. He is still on an iv drip for pain, and will be reciveing his chemo at his local hospital.
If anything, from this, if you all would know that cancer happens with out regard to if we feel we are doing the right things, or if we feel we are out of the percentage group. Please, all get agressive cancer screenings, its your life, and your future.
thanks for your thoughts and prayers. Taylor

Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. My friend is home, and is begining to cope with things. things, we take for granted every day of our lives. He is very weak. His mother and he have been overwhelmed by the amount of support and caring in the last few weeks. He will be starting chemo shortly, and that is another difficult battle as well. He said in one of the letters that he sent out that if he had smoked, he would have had no chance at all for survival, and he hopes that everyone take care of themselves as well.
Thanks again, it means alot to know that there are people in this very tiny world who care-
Hugs, Taylor

My friend is back in the hospital with complications to the surgery, and again is in need of prayers - He went in on wensday and its very serious. He has to be better before they start the chemo, and complications like this can be life threatening.
Thank you all for caring,
Taylor

I know that it probably doesn't mean much from a stranger half way across the world, but for what it's worth I send you many blessings to both you and your friend, as well as all the hope as I can muster.

Peter has begun Chemo, and has decided to try radiation therapy as well for the next 24 weeks. They have him on a pump system for the chemo, and he has some moments where he feels ok, and others that he has problems with. We won't know until later if things will work out, it can all go bad very quickly.
Thanks for all of your prayers and support. hugs, Taylor

Mine too... I know chemo sickens your body, makes you feel really bad,so I really hope he gets through it all, without too much pain...
