Minerva McGonagall was not human, it was a simple fact one she had hidden for years and planned to for many more. Her father had been human but her mother was a different matter. Minerva McGonagall was an elf, hated by the wizard world for their beauty, there almost immortal life, the power they possessed in there little fingers that most wizards had never seen in there whole life. Minerva had been raised hiding what she was, she brewed a potion once a week that she applied to her ears every morning to make them look natural. She hid those shockingly bright eyes behind bewitched glasses, her pale skin hidden by long robes that did nothing for her figure. Once a month she would add a very weak ageing lotion with out it she didn’t look anything over 20 which of course was odd for a woman believed to be 70, she knew most elf’s lived for thousands of years but of course most wizard’s only managed 300 if they were lucky. She knew at some time in the future she would have to double her ageing potion and eventually she would have to disappear and start a whole new life somewhere else.
She had seen so many elves been killed by jealous wizards and witches, and she wasn’t about to join them she wasn’t going to let her mother or her mothers family join them, she wasn’t going to let the McGonagall name be soiled, her father had fallen in love with a elf and she had been born. If the wizard world knew this her family would be hated, laughed at… and she wasn’t about to let that happen. No one out of the McGonagall family except Alastor Moody a childhood friend of Minerva’s knew of her heritage, not even her lover Albus Dumbledore knew and Minerva had planed to keep it this way.
“Troubled Minerva?” Albus asked softly from the large door way of the house he was sharing with Minerva for the remainder of the holidays.
“No… I was just thinking.” Albus noted her lacking response but decided not to question her any further. She was such a mystery to him; Albus found himself thinking as he stared at her intently. There were so many things he knew she was hiding so many things she wouldn’t talk about and yet Albus found himself trusting her completely.
“You’ll stare holes into my skin soon Albus,” Minerva muttered softly dragging Albus from his trance. She watched carefully as he crossed over the living room and kissed her lips softly, they both loved it when it was the holidays and they could kiss at any time for any reason. But they had yet to reach the more intimate step in their relationship and Minerva was almost dreading it. She was so scared that if they did her glasses might fall off or he would ask her to take them off and see her overly bright eyes, she was scared that when she undressed he would notice her overly pale skin and that he might guess and leave her, the potion may even wear off before she could replace it and then… he wouldn’t want her. He wouldn’t want her knowing she wasn’t even of his own species, he would kick her out and she would be alone again. She felt a silvery tear trickle down her pale cheek at the thought of experiencing loneliness again. She felt the warm hands of her lover slowly wipe it away as he held her tightly in his loving arms.
“My dear don’t cry please.” He whispered quietly into her neck, it pained him to see her cry and knowing he could do nothing to stop it just made it worse.
“I love you,” She whispered holding him tightly, the thought of being with out him paining her greatly.
“I know Minerva you have no idea how much I know.” He groaned tightening his grip on her, for so long woman had been after him for his money for fame for what he had done but never for what or who he was. He had been so scared to let Minerva in when they had become friends so scared of being hurt again , but he had and the pain of heartbreak had never came, the pain of loving someone and the fear of losing her replaced it. Everyday he would wake up fearing she wasn’t by his side fearing she was gone and not coming back but she was always there now and Albus thanked Merlin everyday because of it.
It was nearing the end of the holidays now and Minerva could tell Albus was ready to take that next step of course he hadn’t said anything he hadn’t tried anything he was too much of a gentlemen for that but she could tell, he would stare deep at her as if seeing into her very soul. His arms were so tight around her at night now, she knew Albus wanted her and of course she wanted him but she was so scared of what would happen… Minerva McGonagall was scared it wasn’t something that happened often but it was happening.
It was that same night it happened; Minerva felt the mark as she stepped over it as their soft kisses turned into so much more, as light petting turned into undressing. Her mind yelled out for her to stop or at least add more lotion to her ears just in case, but she didn’t as soon as she reached the top of the stairs it slipped away from her mind. Albus stared her skin intently shocked by the paleness of her, her skin almost seemed to glow silver in the moonlight. She was so beautiful, her dark hair slivered down her silvery back like a waterfall. He removed her glasses when he noticed she hadn’t, he felt a bright light bore into his own eyes which slowly dulled, carefully opening his eyes he noticed Minerva’s were closed. He convinced her to open her eyes and saw they were a bright shade of leafy green almost like a cats. His thoughts about why she hid such beautiful eyes slowly slipped his mind as Minerva set herself to the task of pleasing her lover.
