I am at the moment dying for a smoke.... but since I didn't have any cigarettes this morning (twelve hours ago!!) I haven't had a single one today (well I do have the nicotine chewinggum...), so I thought that I would try to quit smoking.... So far, so good....
Sorry for the ramblings... but please wish me luck!!!
M

You're a better woman than I am, I can't seem to give them up. Best of luck to you and if you need a sympathetic ear my inbox is always open. That gum, though...not so helpful in my experience, hope it works for you. Maybe you can write some fluffy stories to take your mind off things and keep your hands busy.

You go girl!!! I have been attempting to get my husband to quit for years. When my step father quit cold turkey he got over the cravings in about 3 weeks, I know that sounds like forever but it really isn't. You are on the road. I will be happy to join your PM support group.
What about a story of Albus giving up a sweet?

Thank you for your support!!!!! It really do mean a great deal!
Hopefully I'll survive today too..., well I know I will, but hopefully without injuring anyone because of my bad mood.
M, who is hoping to give up nicotine - in any shape or form - forever this time.

Oh wow .. I have watched sooo many people try to quit. My Mom tried numerous times and finally quite for good when she got pregnant with my sister, my Nan and Papa quit together (they used a patch), and my Great-Grandma just quit one day. Good luck! And, power to ya! I have seen how hard it can be, but the rewards are more than worth it!

Good luck, and please don't give up! All my great grandaunts and uncles who have died (I have a lot and most are dead) died from lung cancer. I'm sure my grandma will develop it too. It's such a nasty disease, I'm so glad you've decided to quit!

Have you succeeded? I hope so, I lost two close relatives to lung problems (both had been smokers for decades) in the past years. It IS worth to give up the habit, the sooner the better.
