I know it's only the beginning of September, but even now I'm starting to get ridiculously excited about National Novel Writing Month. Despite the fact that it's still a ways off, is anyone else here already planning to participate? (For anyone who doesn't know, NaNoWriMo is a sort of writing challenge [but not a contest] to write a 50,000 word novel in one month. It sounds mad, I know, but it's so much fun!!) I've got a whole plot planned and mostly fleshed out, and I'm starting to get antsy and frustrated that I can't start until November 1st... or even sign up until October 1st! I'm hoping to participate this year. Nerweniel has done it, I don't know, twice I think now and it seems like a good way to actually get somewhere with my original fiction. I'm hoping a looming deadline will inspire me to write beyond a chapter or two.

I am not if I am going to particapte, I hope I will be able too, But I will never have enough time. I have dance, and school, plus work. And I don't think I can do all four when I have to wrok so I can pay for Dance. ::sighs:: I wish I could.

I've done it two years, now, but I don't know if I'm going to manage it this year. I'm a junior in high school; I have a zero hour (an extra class that starts at 6:30, before everyone else), regular school until 2:25, stage crew until 5:00, and work until 6 or 7 (on weekends it's 10AM to 6PM), plus choir practice at church every Monday night until 9.  Oh well... I can always write during math class. It's not like I'll need it. ;D |

Funny thing I was thinking the same thing about Math class. ^__^ I absoulty detest math. O well. I always write then anyway. As you said, Who needs it??

I haven't signed up yet. I had an idea in History today- I hope I don't actually need to know about bastard feudalism, but I don't know if I'll manage. I have this rather epic story running on ff.net that I've been writing since early May (my first fanfic, has developed beyond anything I ever intended, only have a vague idea what I originally meant to do. It involved a diary, got the diary in but it was never mentioned again. The trip just served the purpose of reintroducing a character. Oh well.) together with Stuck on You. Hole in the Air, to anyone who remembers what I'm talking about, is not abandoned. It is only on hiatus. Like Doctor Who went on hiatus. I hope to resume it before I turn 33, (in 17 years) though! And then there's school, which OF COURSE is much more important than writing! *tries to convince herself* Do you think that my school will understand that if I don't do NaNoWriMo, Elly will kill me? Or play her oboe at me? She's strangledduck. lol!

i would like to... but i dont think i will have time. i am in bio right now... and its taking up so much of my time its insain! and i study and all that stuff... but i still fail. i hate it. then i am about to start pre-calc. this is going to be fun. so i dont think that i am going to be in it this year. maybe next year tho!

that would be really fun to do but i dont think i could. i get 10 pages in and i suddenly get writers block. never been more than that. i may still try tho. sounds cool.

I signed up...probably not a good idea. I really don't have time and I signed up the night before so I haven't had time to come up with any ideas. I have about 300-400 words so far but I'm letting the story take me where it will. I probably won't make it to 50,000 by the end of November, but I'm gonna try. Good luck to everyone else who signed up.
I'm also childminerva there so if anyone wants a writing buddy or just to chat-I'm there.

I'd love to actually participate in the challenge, but I have been so busy with school and other activities. So I doubt I'd have time to actually sit down and write so much. But since it is National Novel Writing Month, I will be trying to find time to work on an idea that I like.
Good luck to everybody who is reaching for the 50,000 word mark!
