Okay, I wanted to tell this story and I wasn't sure where I could post it without getting yelled at.
Anyone who knows me knows that I am always looking for different ways to tell people that Min and Albus are married. Well, I suppose ANY MMAD lover would, right?
Well, my grandma was going into her usual tirade about what happened when she was young. Then, she said, "When I was young, when a woman was either over the age of fifty or married, she had one of two choices. She either cut her hair short or put it up in a bun!" And I was happy cuz Min is always wearing her hair up, unless she's sleeping.
When I pointed this out to my mother, she just nodded and walked away. Then I told some non-MMAD people and they were like, "Well, she iiiisss over fifty." And I glared at them and stormed away. It was pretty funny.
Okay, just had to share that story.

My family is so sick of ADMM isn't not even funny. Between me, angeldust, and Branda(don't remember her username on here eek) we talk about nothing else half the time.
My aunt that I live with thinks I'm utterly mad along with the rest of you lot for thinking they're together. Every time the subject ususally when she's ranting about my not cleaning my room, she's a neat freek I'm not, somewhere in the conversation the fact that I write this stuff all the time comes up. She thinks it's purly plotanic(sp). Yha right and Snape is good sure.
Oddly enough my greatgrandmother had a simlar rant to your's once SHE'S A BELIEVER!!! At least I have one in my family.

Out of my friends, and most likely my entire city, I am also the only MMAD shipper. I've corrupted my cousin a bit, but he isn't one for romance, he just stopped disagreeing with me. When GoF came out, I went to see it with about ten friends, (my mom told me to be social one year) Whenever Albus led Minerva onto the dance floor, all of them groaned and stared at me while I was on the edge of my seat, grinning mmadly (ignore very cheesy joke) and whispering over and over "I told y'all so!"
What I love is when your doing something, and someone around you says something and it feels like you were just thrown into a HP scene/character. I always loved it in stories when no one reconigzed McGonagall with her hair down, and one day, I wore my hair down at school, (I usually had it always pulled back pretty tight- short story- new school- hated it) and the four boys behind me were whispering not to quietly, "Who's that?" I would have died from laughter had we not been in church.

My family think i'm utterly insane also but my mother 'can see the logic in it'. A shame she's not a huge HP fan Most of my friends don't agree and infact this is often brought up as a debateing match between me and one of them when a new piece of info either supporting or not supporting the ship crops up. I do have a friend though who agrees they probably are 'sleeping together' but his views are very crude and another who supports me though isn't really a fan I personally believe she probably just agrees to shut me up You do get some funny looks when people walk past to see a short ass girl and a very tall and big built guy debateing rather heatedly over weither two teachers are having a passtionate affair.

One of my friends just dismisses it out of hand and refuses to talk to me on MSN if I have an ADMM icon up. She hates Harry Potter anyway. One walked in when I was on here and couldn't speak for a full ten seconds...lol! Truth! One can see it's logical, and thinks it's a lot better than some ships. Then we spent ages laughing over some of the truly ridiculous ships. (I defy anyone to beat Albus/Socks. Yes, I saw a fic of that.) One can see it's logical, but that doesn't mean she has to like it. We once spent a long time moaning about 'I can't believe she killed him off!" I knew perfectly well she was talking about Sirius (she is a massive Sirius fan) but she didn't know I was talking about Albus...lol! One of my friends isn't really opposed, but she's not going to be jumping aboard anytime soon. She's read all my angst fics though. She likes angst. Hates fluff. All her favourites on ff.net are angst, dark, self-harm, slash etc, etc. My brother just got annoyed that I wouldn't tell him what I was squeeing about at the end of the CoS movie. I feigned ignorance (always a good way to get my mum to actually say what she thinks) and said there was a typo in CoS and showed her. She said I might not be looking at it in the right way, but wouldn't say anything more. This was still grounds for me to grin.

Have a friend who has read one of my MMAD fics, she agrees to shut me up I suppose. Other people know I ship it but no one agrees. My family don'y know anything apart from that I write/read fanfiction.
I'd love to accidently meet a fellow shipper. It would be so cool.

It would be very cool to meet a fellow shipper, but other than two of my former teachers (one of whom was a huge Potterhead) who read my first fic, nobody I know has even read my work. My dad helped me with the title for my Snape fic but my mom just rolls her eyes and ignores me if I talk about HP. My sister is ten and I haven't let her read my work yet, but she isn't really into romance anyway.

That was really cool about women keeping their hair tied up if they're married.
I love being in a HP conversation with people because I always like to throw in that JK is supposedly putting in the last book who's married to who and that I think that if Minerva and Albus aren't married to each other then they aren't married at all. hehe I've actually got a few people to agree with me! ;D One of my sisters is a shipper, and I think the other (her twin, actually) is starting to be one even though she says she loves Albus but doesn't like Minerva. I think I'm getting her out of that, though. lol

Well, that was insightful...

One of my teachers Mr. Mayes our Science teacher actually took my newest fluffy fic and read it to my ENTIRE class because he has this habit of reading 'notes' in class if he catches you (i'm a gulity as sin) and most peole were either appaled or liked it except this ass Aaron I just punched him though he insulted Minerva and Albus I had a right too.

I would have died. My fanfiction is very private, especially cos it's romance and I'm not sure people would look at me in quite the same light if they knew I had a nice romantic side.
I think that I would have run out of the room, and really gone off on one.

I hate it when anything of mine is read out. I would probably have sitting under the table, as in Year 9 RS when the teacher read out my letter to God. What kind of example does that set? Do the best work in the class and I'll publicly humilate you? But my writing is definitely personal. I get nervous enough when my friends read it. And to have a fluffy ADMM fic read out in front of one of my classes, given that I am not exactly Miss Popularity... nope I think I would go for the running out of room option. *is mortified by the very thought*

Childminerva it was the new one "When You've Got It Flaunt It" I did run out of the room shortly after punching Aaron in the nose. Thank god it wasn't a Lemon or I would have been written up. I brought the wrong notebook in that day actually I brought the wrong one to school. Lemons+School=BAD. If it would have been something one of the romance fic god I would have died.

Oh my. Some of my friends know I write FF, but I refused to tell them my user name or what I write to. Forget about mentioning the ships. I would have been so horrified if my fic was read outloud! I'm surprised none had been confiscated though, considering I constantly wrote them in class. You poor thing, that must have been awful. Here, some lemon drops for you

I just finished my first fanfic, but for the few weeks I was writing, all I could talk about was Albus and Minerva. lol All of my friends are sick of it! None of them are really into HP although they have seen the movies with me. Until my best friend fell in love with West Wing fanfic, they all thought I ws crazy for reading it, much less writing! lol I wish I knew more people who loved AD/MM, but then I've always had a thing for old couples. They are just too sweet, whether it's fiction or real life.

I don't talk to my parents about ADMM, they would just give me a speech about how it's not healthy to be obsessed with fictional stories in that way, but they'd be hard pressed not to notice it's my ship of coice, as my computer is full of ADMM stuff (wallpaper, screensaver etc). My sister (3 years younger than me) just smiles mildly whenever I mention it to her, as if I'm some overenthusiastic young kid.
I agree with EloquentPhoenix that it would be great to accidentally meet a fellow shipper, but how would you recognize one? It's not as if it's written on anyone's forehead.
OMG, how did you survive that, mcgonagallrocks? I think I'll never write fics in class again, even though our teachers don't ususally read notes aloud. Though, if that happened to me, my class wouldn't necessarily understand a lot, they're not that good at English. But stil, it's a frightening though.

Well I think that anyone would know who had my msn and knew was MMADness stood for since my msn personal message is MMADness takes its toll... so I think something like that would give it away since we all know what it means.

My sister (age 10) has decided she wants to write fanfiction about a series she really likes about these warrior cats. She agreed to let me read it only if she could read some of my stuff...so I told her about ADMM and she thinks I'm strange for being so MMAD but she agrees they'd be cute together.

I never talk about this ship and I don't write fanfiction and, to be honest, I don't think they are married (I'm not saying I wouldn't be happy if they were ) But that doesn't mean I'm not ADMM shipper, I hope? After HBP was published I talked about it with one of my friends who is also crazy about HP and she said that, with so many shocking things happening in the books, she's sure that next time we'll find out that AD and MM are secretly married. When we went to see GoF movie and they were dancing she said:Well, haven't I told you? They are married!

I'm glad cuz despite all of my talkign of MMAD, no one is getting sick of it. When GOF came out, I squeeled so loud when they started to dance that I scared the crap out of those sitting aorund me. It was hilarious. I mean, I don't think anyone wanted to sit next to me cuz I kept going, "Awwww" and squeeling every time I saw them on the screen after that... Well, before, during, AND after that scene. Haha.
