Hey all,
Did anyone just catch the latest ITV drama premier Driving Lessons with Rupert Grint and Julie Walters?
I loved it!! It was funny and poignant and as always Julie proved she's a fantastic actress, and Rupert has shown that he can do something other than harry potter successfully, although he didn't really get past his gormless look (bless him). It was fantastic, and the pair work very well together, well done, i hope we see more from them in the future.

I'm sure it will be at some point, plus they always bring these things out on DVD at some point as well.

Oh Jem it was brilliant wasn't it, Julie does mad little old lady SO well, the walk,.!!. Rupert was great too, I had the feeling the gormlessness was intentional. Loved the line 'thank you for having me' the morning after..lol. Laura Linney played the psycho mother really well too. EloquentPhoenix it'll be on DVD from boxing day if it's not repeated.

Awww, talk about psyco, i was quite scared of her!! And that had to be my fave line of the whole show, except possibly for the bit during the resurection, even my dad was roaring with laughter at that and i was soooooo worried about his reaction. Julie Walters Rocks and yes she has the mad old lady down to a tee, but then she's had a fair amount of practice over the past few years. I may have to get it on DVD cause my mom had to get up early this morning so missed it.

I must admit I'd never seen the trailer. I looked it up and watched it--the movie looks great. I'll have to rent it soon.

Yes she does seem to get lots of older parts. Just seen a trailer for The Ruby in the Smoke on BBC1. She is an old lady in that too although the caracter sounds a bit evil. lol..Laura Linney scared me too. :-)

I watched the trailer for it at least 3 times although I didn't actually get to see it 'cause I was at a family party... But it looked absolutely great. My favourite line was: "I think I should stop working for you." "Oh why? So you can take up being pompous professionally?" I haven't seen Julie Walters in much but she's clearly a fantastic actress. Rupert was clearly going to be good, but even in the trailer she stole the show.

Yep, For me Julie is up there with Judi and (almost) Maggie. I think the best thing I ever saw her in was called Jakes Progress, in the early 90's. She was a mother who's son had ADHD (in a time when every other child didn't). If you ever get a chance to see it do, she was amazing... :-)

I saw this. I thought it was really cute. Julie always cracks me up! And Rupert won me over, so now I like Ron a lot better. I didn't like the mother though. I felt horrible for Rupert and the dad. Julie plays crazy old lady so good, she is awesome.
