WOW! It was amazing!!! I absolutely loved it, Maggie and Julie were amazing, and Anne Hathaway was absolutely brilliant! She did a really nice accent as well. Suprisingly, my mother loved it as well. Now she can't wait to get her hands on a Jane Austen novel.

One of the downtown theaters let the freshman attend some free movies today, so my roommate and I went to see Becoming Jane...it was amazing!!! The first scene with her parents in bed..."but it's saturday morning!" That killed me Maggie was incredible, as usual, and the actor who played Tom was gorgeous. My roommate cried at the end...it was such a bittersweet finale.

I just rented it. I love it. I felt Anne did an amazing job as Jane. And Julie Walters always cracks me up! I absolutely loved MAggie's character. She plays mean 'hoiler than thow' people so good! Though I felt the black hood was a little Cruella DeVil. It was just creepy. But every scene, though there weren't many, she rocked the house. Especially the ball scene where she is talking to Jane privately. It was so sinister, I knew something bad would happen. Dame Maggie is always so spot on! She is 73 and going as strong as when she was on Broadway in the 50's. I hope to meet her one day! Although I hate it that people don't really recongnize her for the talent she is. My mum doesn't really like anyone I do. She says my tastes are werid, but I don't give two galleons! Long Live the most Awesome and Gorgeous Dame Maggie Smith!!!!!!

I saw it on DVD just yesterday. I really enjoyed it, but not in a 'I must own this' kind of way. Personally I don't like Maggie playing the kind of character she is in this as much as I love her when she's more the lovable grandmother type. The slightly wacky character she plays in My House In Umbria is pretty cool, although it rather surprised me at first: Its not a typical Maggie role I don't think.

OMFG. Becoming Jane: 27 March 2008 (Singapore) Rated PG. I'm so going to watch that. But it's kind of sad that almost everyone else have already watched the film. x.x From imdb.com/title/tt0416508/

I hired it out a couple of weeks ago and couldn't get through it, which is mad as I can normally watch any movie. I guess I was just in the wrong mood, but I just found it really boring.
