I was just reading The Anglophile's Raspberry Jam (plug!) and it got me thinking about jams. We know Albus' favourite is raspberry and Minerva... I don't think she's the sweet tooth type. Perhaps, marmalade. But it doesn't matter really, I'm more interested in your favourite jam. If you have one.Mine's raspberry, amusingly enough. I thought it was very funny when I read that it was Albus' favourite as well. Anyone else?

Strawberry all the way, and I agree marmalade suits Minerva.

Lemon curd. Okay, so it's not jam. Then elderberry preserves. Apricot jam is fabu, too. And plum preserves. Guess I haven't got a fave, unless lemon curd counts. Mmmm . . . lemon curd . . . mmmm . . . time for toast with lemon curd, I think!

I have to admit, I have never heard of lemon curd. I normally associate curd with milk.
What sort of store would I be able to find that in, say if I wanted to try it?

I get mine at my local Safeway, so, depending on where you live, an ordinary grocery store might carry it. I get a brand that is made in California, so even though I think it's originally an English thing, it doesn't have to be imported (if you're in the U.S.) Lemon curd is a wonderful spread made with lemon juice (obviously), eggs, butter, sugar, and pectin, and likely a few other ingredients. It's yummy. BTW, I checked my fridge, and I have raspberry, blackberry, blueberry, strawberry, and apricot jams -- plus my lemon curd, of course! (I can't sleep, so what do I do? I hop on the internet and post my jams! But maybe I can sleep now . . .)

Excellent. I will have to check out the jam aisle more thoroughly next time I go shopping. Thank you and I hope you managed to get some sleep.

Lemon curd is a lovely change from the usual jams. It's nice with cream cheese, too, if you like cream cheese. But I also like cream cheese with raspberry and strawberry jams, almost any jam, in fact! Lemon curd, though, is like an addiction . . . mmmm! ;D

Tie between strawberry and jalapeno. Jalapeno is great on cream cheese and crackers at teatime. Strawberry is great earlier in the day.

One day I may try it, but for now, I think I'll just enjoy the jams and the lemon curd on their own.

I absolutely love lemon curd, especially with tea and cakes. However, as for jam I'm preferable to the California. Guava too. I've never had store bought jam, my grandmother has always made it for the family. -b
