Actually most of the people who know that I am now fangirling MMAD are pretty okay about it. One of them, who has never expressed an interest in MMAD, thought they were cute.

I never felt as though there were a 'right' ship and a 'wrong' ship... Not really. ~mmadlyinlove~

I agree with mmadlyinlove. If you like it, it's right. You don't have to justify it to anyone else, though when you do find other people who enjoy it as well, it can be far more enjoyable.

Yeah, there is no need to justify what you like. We are mmad fans and we shouldn't have to explain ourselves to the outside world... ~mmadlyinlove~

In my opinion, it doesn't matter whether or not your ship of choice is canon. That's what most of fanfiction is - pairing two people who aren't really involved and using fanfiction to make it so. If you enjoy reading stories or whatever about a particular ship, then don't worry about whether it's "wrong" or "right".
AU can be a wonderful thing, btw. :-)

I'm so happy Bill/Laura (BSG) is canon...even the creator/producer has admitted it!
But I don't mind so much that ADMM is not strictly canon, so many people (ie Maggie and clearly everyone here) have seen what I've seen between those two and that's enough for me.

LOL..... Yeah that Maggie thing is a big support with us MMAD shippers. hahaha. But if it makes you feel any better, I only have one shipping that is cannon out of my three main ones. I write Joe/Clarisse from Princess Diaries, and that was only in the movie-verse... My other two are not cannon, MMAD and Hermione/Draco... I don't know if that's any comfort for you. Hahahaha. ~mmadlyinlove~
