There are so many really...hmm but if I had to choose I would have to say Steele Magnolias.
More of my favorites include:
Bridget Jones' Diary While You Were Sleeping Ever After Sense and Sensibility [glow=red,2,300](Perhaps this one needs to be higher on the list for the Alan Rickman factor!)[/glow] Pulp Fiction Independence Day Glory Just to name a few really good ones. ;D

In no particular order:
Rear Window (Hitchcock) Groundhog Day Shadowlands The Thomas Crown Affair (w/ Pierce Brosnan) Waking Ned Devine The first three "Wallace and Grommit" shorts Mary Poppins Lola Rennt (Run, Lola, Run) Blade Runner Citizen Kane Rebecca (the Hitchcock version) Sabrina (w/ Harrison Ford) Mrs Brown Die Ehe von Maria Braun (The Marriage of Maria Braun) Gaslight The Princess Bride (almost forgot that one!)
And I don't think that any of the Harry Potters would make my top 50; maybe somewhere in the top 100. But I haven't given it much thought. The RH ones might make it into the top 50 somewhere just because of him, but I'm not sure. I also like a number of Peter O'Toole movies, old and a few new -- like Good-bye, Mr Chips, Lawrence of Arabia, Man of La Mancha, Lion in Winter (that has a fab cast), and that recent made-for-television miniseries, Casanova. David Tenant was great in that, too. And it goes without saying that I would watch Pierce Brosnan sit on a stool and read the telephone directory and be happy! Haha!

I generally don't watch movies besides Harry Potter really.

I just discovered "Something the Lord Made" en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Something_the_Lord_Made starring Alan Rickman. It was an HBO TV movie in 2004. I watched it for Rickman but was blown away by the entire movie--his performance, his co-stars, the story. Add it to your Netflix queue or get it at your local library NOW, even if you're not a Rickman fan per se. He is incredible in this. It's the true (and pretty faithful to the facts) story of the two men who pioneered the first heart surgeries--for blue babies at Johns Hopkins in the 1940s. Rickman plays the world-famous white doctor who was tutored in surgical technique by his African-American laboratory technician, whom he'd first hired years before to clean the pens of the dogs he used in experiments. Turns out the fellow had world-class surgical talent and ended up not only pioneering surgical techniques with his white 'mentor' but training the next generation of heart surgeons at Hopkins in surgical methods. Have your tissues handy.
