"you should be asking me about Albus's Family instead..." was one of the lines from JK. in the interview posted on Leaky Cauldron. She doesn't get into more, and sadly they don't pick up on that clue.
Now, there are two definitions of family. One is, if your single, then your family is your parents and your siblings, if your married, your family is your wife and kids. (or husband and kids)
We know that Alberforce is his brother and is the barkeeper, we have known that for several books now, so what other family is he speaking about?

I went back and looked at the interview again. Unfortunately, JK clearly cuts them off on the subject. Here is the quote: "JKR: ....Dumbledore's family would be a profitable line of inquiry, more profitable than sweet wrappers. MA: His family? JKR: Family, yes. MA: Should we talk about that a little more? JKR: No. But you can! [Laughter.]" So clearly she wasn't in the mood to tell. But I agree with Taylor there is definitely a line of thought that should be pursued there but how? As we all know the canon evidence is pretty slim. We know he has a brother. We know some of the Hogwarts professors are married and it is too important a piece of information for JK to tell. I think the only clues we can get from HBP about his family are who is at the funeral ~ Aberforth is there. The other odd people (at least in my mind) is the guitar player for the Weird Sisters and the witch from the Hogwarts Express. Could the witch be Albus's sister or sister in law? Yes, she could. I think she was even sitting with Aberforth at the funeral. Are there other familial clues in HBP (or anywhere else for that matter) that I have missed? All of it still brings me back to the only logical choice for his family is Minerva. But I might be a tad bit blind on the subject. Speaking of shipping, I have started in the course of HBP discussions asking people if they think AD & MM are a couple. What is amazing, is most people say yes, that there is some special relationship beyond professionalism there. And these aren't forum readers, just normal fans. I think if AD/MM do true out to be canon, most readers are going to be like, yea that seems logical. Talk about subtle writing. So anybody got any ideas on how we get an FAQ question to JK? Do you think she would answer "Was Dumbledore married?" with a yes or no on her FAQ? Do you think we could get Mugglenet or Leaky to ask it on their polls to see what other fans think?

I thought the Weird Sister guitarist was there because of Slughorn...but the witch from the train and sweets... LOL, that would be so cool if she was his sister! I actually wondered about her when I finished reading HBP for the second time.
JKR was quoted somewhere, I think, in EW (but you should know this better than me who has never set foot on US soil) as saying that we will meet a lot of "minor" characters in book 7, so that points more to Aberforth, sadly enough.
I agree, most non-shippers picked up on the Chocolate moment in COS and are wondering (if they remember).
It would be cool if the Was DD married question would be asked as a FAQ... I think at this point she would even answer it. A yes or no doesn't give away much.

humm, I don't remember the statement about us meeting minor characters except her statement about we will met a member of the Order of the Phoenix we know but haven't met properly yet.

According to Entertainment Weekly, "Rowling has said book 7 won't introduce any 'major' characters, though previously minor ones may play bigger roles-including a member of the Order of the Phoenix whom readers 'have not yet met properly.'",
so you are right of course, Alesia.
We still haven't met Aberforth officially, so he still is a good candidate... I just can't imagine Mundungus suddenly being the key character in book 7. The tendency may change in book 7, but JKR likes to speak freely about stuff that won't be terribly important later on, like giving us the description of Scrimgeour or the name of McLaggen. Then again, we aren't waiting for general groundbreaking info, we just want confirmation for our little ship, which others (JKR included) may deem irrelevant.

Well, the order person is probably Mad Eye Moody, we know him, but it was Barty Jr who was acting on his behalf, and anything that we encountered about him was that he was thin, skittish, etc, and I don't remember much in this book conversing with him. If you go back to when someone was showing the photo of the phonenix order to harry it lists who they are and what they did.
right now my book 6 is with a co worker being read so, I have to wait to get it back before I can figure out more.
One thing I did see was that Albus tells harry that Severus helped him after his hand was hurt with the ring. It is a bit of a question how much he helped in the recovery, or hindered it.
The people at the leaky cauldron might be a pretty good source, or even the lexicon, as they have been know to put an open letter to JK that she has answered questions to.
