as with most of the Harry Potter movies this one is seen at different levels.
I found myself laughing at some of the parts, and I could hear the adults laughing, but, the kids were Huh?
there was also the part where Hermione is sitting on the steps and she pulls off her shoes and the whole audiance went Awwwwww
I don't quite know the moment. I mean I knew Cedric was going to die, and that part was sad, but the tears started when Harrys parents stood next to him, speaking to him for the first time. and Cedric saying "take my body back to my parents.
and harry crying over his body. Then the tears came. My niece on the other hand, said it was sad, but- she didn't cry.
We left the theater and went to Target and picked up the sound track. Its worth it. (with the exception to the last three songs sung by the weird sisters) well, the last one was ok, and it actually WAS in the movie. you had to stay to the very end to hear it. We didn't stay to the end end, I wish we did, just to know- did they do anything at the end end like they did in the 2nd one with lockheart?

We didn't stay to the end end, I wish we did, just to know- did they do anything at the end end like they did in the 2nd one with lockheart? We didn't stay to the end either, but I really want to know what happened, if anything majorly exciting did. And yes, I choked up. Sometime during the graveyard scene...no, when Amos was yelling, "that's my son!" That's when I really lost it

We stayed till the end, hoping for a small "extra", but there wasn´t any... I so had to cry when Cedric died, I think is was much more touching and moving then in the book. And when his father cries over him...omg...

I cried when Harry brought Cedric back and Arthur and Amos were celebrating without realising and then it dawns on Amos and he cries and repeats, that's my boy!

I was totally choked by Amos Diggory's reaction to his sons death. I thought his cries were really powerful and they grabbed me by the heart strings. Jeff Rawle, who plays him, is an actor whose face I know really well, but for some reason I usually associate him with comedy (completely illogically - maybe its his nice face?). He really got me with his "my son!".
Going to see it again tonight. Wonder if it will have the same effect.

Oh, me too, I sobbed all through that.
I also cried early in t he film too, though, when Neville was watching the spider get tortured. That was awful. I mean, great acting and great, I don't know, everything, but awful, you know?

I almost lost it too during the scene after they get back. I actually thought I was going to cry publically in a theatre, I almost wish I did cry...

I actually cried when Harry didn't want to let go of Cedric's body. I thought I was the only one, but my boyfriend (!) was sniffing too!!!

I didn't cry but then again, I hardly ever cry in public and I don't think I've ever cried over a movie. It was powerful, well done, but it did not make me cry. I save my tears for Albus' funeral, I guess.

I didn't cry. Don't all hate me but I thought it was awful and completely unemotive. I agree with foci, save my tears for Albus' funeral, his death was the third time I cried over something in a book, so it can be the first for the film. I hate to cry in public too, even if it is dark.

I heard all three of the songs in the movie- first "Do the Hippogriff", then "This is the Night", and finally "Magic Works" just before the scene where Hermione sits on the steps. I thought they were all brill.
I cried when Harry brought Cedric's body back. I sat with my hand clapped over my mouth trying not to make a noise, while my insensitive friend kept giving me weird looks and whispering "It's not that bad" as she sat next to me.
I also *nearly* cried when Hermione got upset about what Ron said, but it also confused me. Hermione said 'Off to bed, both of you' or something like that, but does she have the authority to do that? She doesn't become a prefect till fifth year. I thought it was the end of the ball but Neville came in much later, and I was really puzzled. I wonder if it was just a Hermione-bosses-the-boys-around scene, or a mistake?

Yeah, I'm with foci. Saving my tears for Alby. My cousin said, "You might want to bring a box of Kleannex with you. You're gonna need it." I cried so much when I read the book. Actually, I'm gonna cry during the 5th film, too. WAH! Sirius.... ~Branda~

Agreeing with a lot of people, Amos' heartbreak over his son had me sobbing, while my brother went 'It's a film, it's not real'. He doesn't understand... Although I'm probably the only one who got teary-eyed at the bit in the beginning, when Cedric drops out of the tree and Amos is so proud that this is his son. I knew what would happen...

I got chocked up with the 'my boy' bit but I think everyone did. I almost cried at the cinema but watching it again it only chocks me up now.
I never knew there was something at the end of COS!! (which is odd for me I always watch till the end of the credits when I see a film at the cinema)
I quickly dug the dvd out and fast forwarded to the end very interesting indeed!

Er.. sorry but what happened at the end of COS? What is COS for that matter?! As for the "..thats my boy! Thats my son!" part, I saw it with Riku and she cried so much, I was a little embarrassed. Of course that part was sad, just didn't cry... See yah, James P.S. oh wait COS.. Chamber of Secrets? Theres something at the end? I'll check it.

I cried when it happened in the book, but I guess since I expected it in the movie so I didn't cry. I felt a little sad, but I didn't cry (I almost did, I felt so sad).

Strange. I didn't cry during the film or the book. I felt angry, more than anything. Voldemort has ruined so many lives...such a metaphor for so many real-world dictators.

Although I did feel sad that Cedric died, I felt more anger. I was angry at Voldemort who killed senselessly, Peter who betrayed his friends, and Fudge for being an idiot.

I hate to cry in public too, even if it is dark. I agree, I've never broke down while watching the movie, except while watching the Little Princess - that is one horribly sad movie. And I did cry when Dumbledore died; though his death, imo, was wrapped up too fast for me to grieve properly. Don't hate me, but I seriously think JK has not talent for killing characters. It's like one minute they're alive and next - 'wham' they're dead. That's it. I don't know but for some reason it seriously annoys me. Ok, I'm getting off the topic here, lol. ;D
