I'm not sure that is the right place to put this but it seemed the best place. This is a response to the 1sentence challenge on LJ, where you had to write a sentence each for fifty prompts. It took me a lot longer than I thought it would. These are in numerical order rather than chronological.
#01 - Air
Every time his blue eyes looked at her, she suddenly found herself short of air.
#02 - Apples
She realised he was just as nervous as her as she saw his Adam’s apple bob in his throat and suddenly felt a lot less nervous.
#03 - Beginning
“I understand you play chess, Miss McGonagall?”
#04 - Bugs
The greatest wizard of the age, and he made such a fuss about a stomach bug.
#05 - Coffee
He once apparated to Kenya at two in the morning because she had a craving for ‘real’ coffee.
#06 - Dark
The dark of the night hid their secret well.
#07 - Despair
There were times she despaired of ever seeing the end of the war, but he always gave her hope.
#08 - Doors
Albus truly believed that the goddess Minerva couldn’t look any more beautiful than the Minerva that walked through the church doors.
#09 – Drink
His kisses tasted of lemon during the day and hot chocolate at night.
#10- Duty
She wished, just for once, that they could be selfish, ignore their duty and stay together.
#11- Earth
He looked so adorable with dirt on his nose, even cross-eyed with trying to see it.
#12- End
The battle never ended; after Grindlewald came Voldemort.
#13- Fall
The greatest wizard of all time wasn’t infallible, but she was always there to catch him.
#14- Fire
She collapsed, sobbing with relief, clutching the feather to her chest.
#15- Flexible
It amazed her that her world had twisted so far as to accommodate her encouraging the Weasley twins and Peeves.
#16- Flying
The day he asked her to marry him, she felt like grabbing Xiomara’s broomstick and screaming it to the stars, but she kissed him instead.

The students didn’t notice the smiles lingering around their professors’ mouths; they didn’t notice the way their leg rested against the other’s.

“Mama, Papa, I’ve grown, I can reach the shelf now!”
#19- Grave
So many died; died and had to lie where they fell.

She fought, her green robes swirling around her, green light reflecting in her green eyes.
#21- Head
She helped him unpack his belongings and settle in the Headmaster’s office; he helped her unpack her belongings and settle in the Transfiguration teacher’s office and life went on.
#22- Hollow
She stared at the white tomb dry-eyed; she had no more tears to shed.
#23- Honour
Headmaster of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, Supreme Mugwump of the International Confederation of Wizards, Chief Warlock of the Wizengamot, a Chocolate Frog card: so many honours had been bestowed upon him, but the one he prized far beyond anything else was her love.
#24- Hope
Every one of her cubs gave her hope; hope for the future.
#25- Light
Every day he spent without her was dark.
#26- Lost
‘Don’t lose yourself, my Minerva.’ he prayed.
#27- Metal
Strange to think that a small circle of metal worn on the finger would cause such hysteria if it was seen by anyone.

He bought her a new hat for their anniversary; she bought him a pair of socks.

They were considered old now, but she was still beautiful to him.
#30- Peace
Everyone was frantically making plans: a moment of peace was as rare as diamonds and Albus wished he could give either to Minerva.
#31- Poison
She spent the night plotting how to force a poisoned cough drop down Umbridge’s throat.
#32- Pretty
She had never been pretty; pretty was far too weak a word to describe her.
#33- Rain
Her hair hung damply around her face, her eyes sparkled, her cheeks were flushed from running through the rain and she looked slightly surprised when he kissed her.
#34- Regret
He looked back at her sadly before walking to his death.
#35- Roses
A rose was the perfect description of her: she was beautiful, with hidden thorns.
#36- Secret
She always assured him that she didn’t care what anyone thought; she knew he loved her and that was enough.
#37- Snakes
He remembered the smirk Severus had worn after Quidditch matches, remembered what a bad mood she had always been in, and readily gave his consent for Harry to be Gryffindor’s seeker.
#38- Snow
The snow didn’t show in his hair and she teased him mercilessly until he shoved a handful of snow down her neck.
#39- Solid
The numbness of the gaping hole had been replaced with a weight that hurt her every time she breathed.
#40- Spring
She always knew it was spring when a vase with a single daffodil appeared on her desk.
#41- Stable
“Albus, Athena says Minerva is stable,” Aberforth realised he was talking to an empty room and swore loudly.
#42- Strange
It was quiet and the atmosphere was relaxed; she’d almost forgotten what life was like when you weren’t trying to survive day by day.
#43- Summer
She loved Hogwarts when it was full of children; she loved it more when she was alone with her husband.
#44- Taboo
Things were quite different when she returned.
#45- Ugly
Before, the whispers had hurt her, but the knowledge she now carried in her heart made her able to smile and pretend to be deaf.
#46- War
The world was at peace, but a war raged within him; should he tell Harry?

Their reflections wavered and dissolved into ripples; much like their world was.

This year, she was not the one welcoming the first years.

She loved winter; winter meant long evenings together in front of the fire.

He stroked Fawkes absently as his mind thought about the news he had just received, that Harry Potter had bought the brother wand to Voldemort’s, and wondered what it might mean.
