A/N: Big thanks to beMMADfabulous and childminerva for getting me thinking about what to do with this prompt. I wouldn't have written this without your unknowing help. ;D
Disclaimer: Not mine, but that's cute if you thought it was.
Her wand moved in a flourish as the words, “Happy Christmas from Albus Dumbledore,” appeared on the card before her.
Minerva had written his Christmas cards for years, ever since the first year she had received one from him, shortly after she left Hogwarts for University. It had been a standard card, but his hand writing had been so bad it had taken her a week to figure out who it was from. When she had replied, teasing him about his writing, he had complained of his hand cramping from writing “Happy Christmas from Albus Dumbledore” thousands of times. She had taken over the writing of his impersonal cards, deciding not to remind him he was a wizard for a reason. After all, she would have done anything to relieve his stress during the rising of Grindlewald.
Minerva shook her head. She wouldn’t think of that now. It was almost Christmas and she still had many cards left to go.
It had been shortly after she became his deputy that she had taken over his personal cards as well. He’d seen her writing her note about the events in her life that year, which she included in each of her personal cards every year, and had decided to write one as well. For many years now she had included his letter, closing the cards with “Happy Christmas from Albus,” but this year there was a change, a very significant change.
Minerva touched the paper of the first personal card. She smiled at its texture and thickness. Beautiful. She, of course, had picked out the cards herself.
With another flourish, this time a bit longer, the Christmas letter was included and with a smaller movement the greeting was enclosed.
“Happy Christmas from Albus and Minerva.”
