Author's Note: Er...hello. I'm quite new here and thought it might therefore be appropriate to actually post something. So here is one of the few responses I've written to the 100 prompts and the only one I like. Diamond "Anyway, I think you ought to be more careful. Umbridge is a dreadful little woman who holds too much sway at the Ministry. Please don't take this lightly!" Minerva finished her tirade and sank into a chair in front of Albus's desk. "Thank you, Minerva, I will keep your suggestions in mind," he smiled quietly at her, his fingertips pressed together thoughtfully. It made her rather want to glare at him. Insufferable man. She looked away, and a small black velvet box on his desk caught her eye. It didn't fit with his other trinkets. "What's this?" she asked, taking it. "Ah," Albus said, looking as though he would have liked to stop her hand. She frowned and opened it. A simple but lovely diamond ring sparkled up at her. Her frown deepened slightly and she looked quizzically up at him, even more perplexed. "That's just..." he reached across his desk--with some effort--to take the box from her. He looked at the ring rather sadly, then shut it and clasped it in his fist. He offered her a strange, wistful smile. "Something I meant to give to someone. A long time ago."

Excuse me a minute while I stifle my scream by holding my face in a pillow...
HOW COULD HE (AND BY EXTENSION YOU) JUST LEAVE IT THERE?
lol, by which I of course mean to say, wonderful job. This is a perfect response for this prompt. I just wanted to slap him. I am assuming, since this is the ADMM boards, it was for Minerva, right?
Anyway. Amazing job. Thank you so much for sharing. I can not begin to tell you how much I look forward to reading more from you!

NO! Why? Why would he do that? Why would you do that? Damn it he had the perfect opportunity to tell her. Stupid man. *cries*
I agree with Sprinkles, it is wonderful. And I think a different prompt should be a sequel to it. Maybe? *Looks hopeful* Please?
I hope you write more that you like soon, and welcome to the boards.

Thanks. ^_^;;
Trust me, I'm not leaving it off there. If I can drag my muse out of Cambodia or wherever its disappeared to, I'm going to write one hundred MMAD vignettes with this kind of tone until the end, when they finally stop being stupid. I'm not so good at writing fluffy things.
And yes, it was for her. ^_^

*holds head in hands and cries softly*
Did you really just say Elo and I have to read 98 more fics that make us want to knock their heads together before we get to happiness?
*cries a bit more*

*grins* ha ha ha ...
read it and weep Sprinkles. (I know you probably will) Yay another 98 angsty little fics to make me smile... :-) I loved this, and the fact that he didn't tell her it had been for her makes it even better.
Jaye :-).... (eagerly awaiting the next installment)

*sobs* No, dammit! Not 98 more fics to go! They must stop being stupid and get together! *wipes eyes* Despite the evil ending, this was a lovely response to the prompt. I can't wait for you to post more.

*Cries some* 98 more fics of angst? Poor Albus and Min, they'll be so sad. But if they get their happily ever after in the end.... ;D It was for her? God how stupid is she? Don't answer that.

Not exactly ninety-eight, don't worry. Toward the end they'll get closer and closer. Maybe eighty-some angsty things.
Heh...
I hope I didn't imply that she was being thick or anything. I didn't give her a chance to react, just kind of abruptly cut it off after Albus's comment.

You, my dear author, are EVIL. "maybe eighty-some" *shakes head* The only thing keeping you safe is that, based on this fic, that last 20 or so will definitely be worth it! lol I didn't think Min was thick. Even if she did wonder who it was for or even had the idea it might have been hers (which I can't see her having, that would be admitting she knew he had feelings for her), I can't imagine her coming out and asking him. Anyway, once again, very nicely done.

Dude, not cool! You can't leave it there! You just can't do it. I command that it not be so! IIII can leave things hanging, but you can't! *claps hands* Now be gone! LOL! ~mmadlyinlove~

No, I didn't mean she looked thick I just meant the pair of them really... If he bought her an engagement(?) ring then they're both stupid for not realising how the other feels *nods*
80 angst fics?

...Eighty-ish. This figure will probably decrease, but at least I'm not building up false hope for you. I don't know if they'll all be angsty, either. I'm just not a very good fluff writer.

Ok so we have now moved on to spamming your thread, but I wanted to say that when it comes to fluff, practice makes perfect... lol Have you written other stories? Oh and Elo, I didn't think that is what you meant!

I have written before, but never MMAD fics until I stumbled across this board.
I'll probably have another one up tomorrow. It's not fluffy, exactly, but it's not angsty either. ^_^;;

Can I just say that I thought this was stunning? I tend to be a ridiculously fluffy writer myself, but little angst ficlets are my secret favorite. Simply gorgeous.
