The book series will be coming to an end (or at least the end of this particular arc). I'm feeling very depressed because I don't want my beloved series to end just yet (and what if my favourite character dies?). I'm afraid that after awhile like most fandom... it'll come to an end, and no one will really care as much anymore.
I'm really going to miss all the feelings of anticipation or wanting and waiting excitedly for the new book to come out. Anyone else feeling just slightly similar?

Wow... I hadn't really allowed it to affect me until you mentioned our fandom... *sigh* Now I'm really sad.

I'm split on this...part of me will be relieved when this is over and we know the truth about (hopefully) everything. The rest of me is saddened to think that all the HP hype that surrounds the arrival of the next book will be over. Also, I fear that the fansites will lose their popularity once the 7th book has come out.

*attempting to think optimistically* Well, at least we don't have to give up when the book comes out. We still have a few years to wait until all the movies are out, and if JK confirms our ship then it will be all the better.

I'm sad it's over. I'm a Harry Potter kid and I grew up reading them from being 9/10. They'll always be something I can re-read and I won't lose my love for this ship. It's a milestone and it signifies, for me, the end of childhood. A happy and sad thing.

Me and Cranky Cauldron ahve this talk all the time. I can't wait to find out how it all ends but it'll be awful! We want to invent a machine that will wipe your memories of the books so you can read them again with the same suspense.
It's never the same again, no matter how good the book is. There's nothing like the first time...
I really love JKR for being so secretive about the books because I know I'd ruin it for myself if there were spoilers. I'm going to read book seven as slowly as possible. Oh it's going to be awful!!!! I can't stand it!!
I didn't buy book six until three months after it came out but I don't think I'll be able to last that long this time....
All I can say is thank god for fanfic or I'd have nothing left to look forward to. I know there's still the films but I can't stand the way Michael Gambon is destroying the best character ever written. It utterly ruins the whole thing for me. I'm not sure if I'm alowed to swear on here so I'll just say that I'm thinking of a rude word beginning with 'W'... and 'B'... and 'T'... and 'F'....
I'm gonna go cry now...

I ruined HBP for me because I went ahead and read the spoilers before I got the book. Maybe that was the best thing to do, though, because I wasn't that distraught. I keep telling myself I am NOT reading spoilers this time. I want to experience the last book on its own.

I'm mixed about spoilers...because I like to be completely surprised when I read the book, but I do like to read every snippet of info that JK releases right before the books come out.

It's not just an end to the Harry Potter series, but an end to a large part of today's literature. To me, it feels like once I've read the seventh book there'll be little else I'll be interested in reading.

To me, it feels like once I've read the seventh book there'll be little else I'll be interested in reading. oh, I could never feel that way. I read lots and lots before HP came along and the series introduced me to dozens of other books. I can always find something new and interesting, though I doubt that I shall ever read anything that will trap me and involve me in such a way as the HP books have done. I mean, I'm here on a shipping board, aren't I? ;D I don't think another series will ever get me so involved in its fan culture.

I'm sure I'm going to be sad after finishing reading Book 7 but I don't think it'll be the end of fandom. Look at the Star Wars, for example. I don't think they're less popular now that the series is over. Or LOTR.

But I know I'll read it all in one night, and I know I'll always re-read.

I can't wait for the 7th book! All of the others I have read in one sitting so I'm crossing my fingers that I have no exams or urgent lectures/practicals because my mind will NOT be focused. lol.

I have a love/hate relationship with it at the moments. Now with a title, it's getting closer...

Yes, I'm sorry to have made everyone so depressed!
I am like Sphie Langdon, I have this love/hate relationship with moments like these, but I know I'll keep coming back even once the books have finished. I'm not giving up MMADness quite yet (or if I ever will give it up).

I feel sad that the series is coming to an end. Everything's going to be explained, obviously. But at the same time it'll be quite a fresh, almost pleasant feeling when the last book is over. We can put the Harry Potter book series phenomenon together as a notable part of our lives and move on - and yet the series will always be with us and there will always be more stories to tell - AUs, futures, histories, personal interpretations.
I know I probably sound like I'm snubbing it but I'm not at all - I've been obsessed with it for seven years. When it's all over, I'll be able to look back and truly appreciate how much I enjoyed the series, instead of having to wonder how I'm going to fit it in as I get older and more responsible. And when I'm bogged down with no time for anything, I'll be glad I had time for Harry Potter.

OMG! When ever I think about Harry Potter (almost all the time) I get sad! So many people are going to die! I am so attached to like everyone! This is going so suck. But I also want to know what happeneds in the end. there wont be anymore suspeence after this, so that is why its so suspencefull. lol. but yes, deffanitly gong to cry for day. and before the book comes out i might cry from stress of not having the book. lol.
