I've been looking all over and can't seem to find any information about when they might release pictures of the cover art for "Deathly Hallows." Does anyone know?

Ours are hideous. At least the children's one is. As if someone chose that design for the UK. The adult one is better, thankfully, I might have to break the habit of buying the children's ones because it's so awful. The American cover is much nicer.

I just took a look at the cover art over at Mugglenet -- I agree that the UK children's edition cover art is pretty awful . I really liked the cover art for the adult edition, though ;D, and that's what I always buy. It's terrible, I preorder from the UK, but since I live in the US, I always have to wait a few days after everyone else has read the new book before I can even start it -- I don't mind that much, though. And since I have mixed feelings about the book coming out (the series will be at an end! -sniffle- ), I think I can manage the wait more easily this time. -MMADfan (thinking she should probably do some writing this afternoon)

Isn't it shocking? It's just hideous. Why do you pre-order from the UK? I thought apart from covers, chapter fics and font size the books were the same? :S

Hey, Has anyone noticed that harry doesn't have a scar? Also, check out here: www.scholastic.com/harrypotter/books/hallows/index.htm This shows the FULL cover, Including voldy on the back. Doesn't it kinda look like Harry and Voldy are fighting together, not against each other? Oh, no wands.

On the UK kids, is Dobby clinging to Harry with a sword, possibly the sword of Godric Gryffindor.?.?.?.?.?.?

I was thinking sword of Gryffindor. Also lots of Gold, Gringotts?
A green 'S' on the grown up version. *rolls eyes* gee, I wonder what that means.
And what's that around Harry's neck on the American version? I'll tell you what it is. It's a small brown drawstring bag.

Oh! They're trying to catch something. Moldy Voldy and Harry. Because look, their eyes are focused elsewhere. It's probably the Snitch. And Harry'll catch it and Voldy will be mad because then Slytherin won't win the House Cup. Serves him right, the great git.

I don't mind the UK children's cover, but the US one is loads better. It looks like Harry and Voldy are in an arena of some sort (maybe being watched by Death Eaters? Can't really tell.) Maybe Harry's learnt to use wandless magic and they're both summoning something or such like. Ooooh the speculations are endless!! ~ Mercury (Hi to those who don't know me by the way - I'm Mercury (obviously) and I'm very excited right now! )

My first thought was that it looked like the Coliseum...
second thought is that there is a third something (person, summoning never occured to me) involved, because they're both focused elsewhere...
thirdly, I am still in denial so I say it's Dumbledore!! haha...

I do like the US one best...the orange sky looks so ominous!!!
The UK adult version is cool, but I find the children's version rather ugly...no offence to anyone who likes it.

Ugly is exactly the right word. It just looks... I don't know. Weird. And the expressions they have - what?

Anyone notice the armour on the UK kids cover? Could it have belonged to Gryffindor? Could Voldemort have found it during his time at Hogwarts? They say no one knew the school better ... if they're in the school that is ... and Voldemort wanted something from each founder ...
Stared at the cover from every angle last night and debated the possibilties with Cranky Cauldron. Is the arch the veil? Is it an arch at all? It could be circular - like the tunnels under Hogwarts.
I wonder if anyone's tried walking backwards and forwards in front of the room of requirement thinking 'I need to find Voldemort's horcruxes...'

See now, I feel obligated to defend the UK children's version! There's just so much more to look at! Admittedly the full picture in the US kids version is less garish, BUT the UK version has so much to discuss in it! That veil in the Department of Mysteries HAS to come into Deathly Hallows, JK spent so much time describing it in Ootp, she never does anything by accident! What is in the little bag around Harry's neck in the US edition? I would have thought the locket - but then why bother with hiding it? BRING BACK ALBUS! I don't give a damn about Sirius, just bring back Albus JK! *Sobs* [Cranky blubbers into her tea and has to leave the room...]

I don't care for the UK children's version or the US version . The British adult one is by far the best, but since I want the book immediately, I will get the US version.
