so I was in my Shakespeare class today, and we were talking about Macbeth, and there is a girl in my class who I can not stand. When she talks I have to tune out or I get annoyed as all hell, but a though occured to me. We know JKR is a fan of Macbeth(she's said it and you can see similarites with the prophecies) but I started thinking, Dumbleore was killed my a trusted and close advisor, and this got me thinking that maybe she had teaken the idea from Macbeth, after all it was Snape who heard the prophecy. But then who's Lady Macbeth? I started thiking of McGonagall, which fits pretty well. The trusted advisor who then has to take the reins after his death. Im not a SSMM shipper, but Jo did say we would learn about the staff's spouses, and while we always assume that she means AD and MM, maybe...
ok maybe I should start paying more attention in class, and I dont really want that to be true(they should be happily married god damnit) but it seems like something Jo would pull, and it would be a great suprise

Ah, Macbeth- my favorite of Shakespeare's plays that I have read so far. ;D
If JK makes it so that Snape and McGonagall are married, I will be FURIOUS!!!!!!!! I'm sure JK didn't take all of the ideas from Macbeth, though. For some reason, I just can't seem to grasp the fact that she could put those two (SSMM) together. Although... *sinking thought*... Minerva did say it was her fault when Albus died.. Lady Macbeth was kinda at fault too. Oh geez, I'm thinking too literally here! *runs off to go read ADMM fluff*
PLEASE, JK, let SSMM NOT be together!!!!

JK said that the idea of Snape in love was not a good one. I can't remember the exact quote but it was something along those lines. But then I've never read/seen MacBeth so maybe that fits into the plot.

The more I think about it, the more I realize Minerva can't be married to Snape unless she's completely fooling EVERYONE.. I mean, she did say that Albus was the one that had the faith in Severus that she didn't understand.

ok so maybe not the married bit, honestly that part wound't make sense to me either, but the possibility of them being in cahoots would be an interesting one at the very least. I actually remeer reading an argument that Minerva is a Death Eater. I wasnt convinced, but it was certainly an intersting idea

she CAN'T be a death eater! That would be so unbelievably wrong and I would probably have to burn my HP books. Perhaps that's a little drastic....No. It's not. She can't be!!!! She's the second best character! Okay I'm done ranting, since I didn't really have anything smart to say Shakespeare is an interesting thought. I wonder if there are other connections to his plays?

I'm sooo terrified that JK will say Minerva's really evil or something. It's just because I'm so anxious about the book, though, I think.

Alot of people think McGonagall betrays Harry since she was in Hogwarts the same time LV was.
I don't think she is evil but I can totally see why people would think she is. For example in OOTP Umbridge asks only 3 professors how long they've been teaching at Hogwarts: Trelawney, Snape, and McGonagall. We find out how the number of years (16 for Trelawney and I think 15 or 14 for Snape) connects to the plot. Trelawneys time period connects to the time she made the prophecy and Snape's time connects to the time where he switched over to the good side. We never find out how McGonagall's time connects to the plot. Why she's worked at Hogwarts for specifically 39 years starting on December. I personally think this is an important part of the book.

My nightmare senario isn't Evil Minerva. I can deal with Evil Minerva. My nightmare senario is Dead Minerva. I can even deal with SSMM. I can't take Dead Minerva. I COMPLETELY agree. Evil Minerva could be cool. Snape and Minerva, not as cool, but if anyone could pull it off, she could. The only mere thought that might sustain me if Minerva died would be that she and Albus were together in the afterlife. But I don't think she'll die...JKR already pulled that card with us, 4 stunner spells to the heart...I don't think she wants to kill Minerva...then again, she's a tricky woman...*contemplates*

Alot of people think McGonagall betrays Harry since she was in Hogwarts the same time LV was. What! And what was she supposed to do about it, murder him then? At that time, most of the people had no idea what he'd become. I just don't see how she betrayed Harry by not murdering him then. She couldn't have known how the future would turn out.

What! And what was she supposed to do about it, murder him then? LOL! ;D And I agree, I don't think JK is gonna kill Minerva after allowing her to survive four Stunners to the chest in OotP. And yes, MinnyCat, I too would cry endlessly if Snape and McGonagall are together. *GAGS!!!!*

you know, I'm actually prepared for pretty much anything. There are very few things that would suprise me now, and regardless I'm game for most things. Of course I'd love to see ADMM confirmed, however if it's not, I may be ok as well.
My nightmare is little to no Minerva. Thats what I couldnt deal with.
