Is anyone else here going to the midnight release of Deathly Hallows?
I am going to a local Wal-Mart to get the book. I was going to go to Barnes and Noble but its about 45 minutes away and I wanted to read it ASAP.

I'm going to the Books-A-Million book release party if I don't win the fanfic contest I entered, but I'd really rather win the contest! lol

hehe I pre-ordered it from barnes and noble. I wanted to stay up all night and stand in line for the books and do a sort of camp-out with my friends but we were afraid that they'd run out! That actually happened one year: they ran out of copies! I seriously didn't wanna risk it lol... and I remember vaguely seeing that barnes and noble can ship the books out the night before so that we'll have them on the morning of the 21st! I really hope I'm right about that... that would totally suck if I had to wait a week! I wouldn't be able to go online... haha all the spoilers. In fact, I don't think I will go on the internet until I finish reading it. All I remember from HBP was going online for like. 10 minutes and seeing tons of "omg omg snape killed dumblefore" comments. It was so bad!!!

I'm going to Books A Million at midnight (I have the book preordered). I'm not going to get on the Internet at all before I read it from cover to cover, because I don't want any spoilers! (well, I'm curious about them, but I do want to be genuinely surprised!) I'm gonna have to keep myself from skipping ahead to see what will happen too. lol
I wonder how early I should get there.. I don't know what they do at these things!

;D I took the day off from work. Which is a little sketchy... I hope my boss doesn't realize that half of his employees are actually at home reading harry potter and not "having car issues" >D bwahaha and I would think that you should get there around 7 or 8 at night... I mean, there will be people starting to get in line in the morning, but they're usually the really insane kids who don't mind spending more than 24 hours at the front door in a wizard costume ... yeah. I'd probably bring headphones or something as well ;D I don't like long lines ;O; <3

At our local target they don't get many sales on the first day for some reason. I am trying to get my friend (who is also on this board) to drive me and her out there to get it at midnight. =) Get that, a couple Monster energy drinks, and then read cover2cover. =)

There shouldn't be many people around here trying to get the book at midnight, I don't think. I've been told it shouldn't be too crowded. I'm taking a friend, though, so we'll have tons of fun. ;D

I'm looking forward to the midnight party at my store. We've got lots of games and activities planned. The only thing that sucks it I will probably have to wait til the end of my shift before I can buy the book. Which will more than likely be about 2 or 3 in the morning. I plan on threatening everyone with an Unforgivable curse if they start shouting spoilers. I think I remember hearing that when Book 6 came out, someone came by to one store wearing a shirt that said "Dumbledore dies." Not cool.
We have over a thousand reservations, so if even half of them show up at midnight, it should prove to be quite insane. But in a good way! ;-)

I am going to run to the bookshop just before midnight, then run home again and sit in bed all night reading. I don't plan to log on, answer the phone or the door until I'm finished reading...

Same with me! Nowhere near anywhere that could possibly have spoilers.
When HBP came out I was on page two when my cousin (who I borrowed the book from) said 'Snape's the Prince and he kills Dumbledore before he runs off.' I was very tempted to throw her book at her head. But I settled with a glare and went to my room to read.

lol... I would most likely be that girl you see camping outside the bookstore waiting for the pre-order collection to start.

Today, my sisters and I made HP tshirts and Luna Lovegood radish earrings to wear to the OotP and DH release! (The earrings are kinda heavy because they're clay, but they're still pretty cool.) Maybe I'll take and put up some pics of it.

I've got it preordered at Wal-Mart, I'm going to pick it up at midnight (dressed as McGonagall, of course ) and all my friends are coming to my house to read it as well. We're going to be each other's moral support in case anything bad happens.

I'm flying home to Houston, guys, just so I can keep with my tradition of going with my father at midnight to get the book at Wal Mart. As it's the last one, I think I'd regret it to my dying day if I didn't.
Listen to this and tell me I'm not dedicated:
I'm finishing my final performance at the matinee, I'll be done at 5 ish. I'm going straight from the theatre to the airport and catching a 7:30 to Houston, where I usually live. I'll make it there at 9:30 Central time and be home at 11.
That's enough time to down a cup of coffee and hit the Wal-Mart line after I set my bag (yes, one bag) down at home. My Dad and I will get the book at Midnight and head home. I read for 4 hours before leaving home and hitting the airport to catch a 7 AM back to NYC, where I arrive at 11 Eastern and head straight into the Theatre for the Matinee the next day.
Yeah. My boss wouldn't let me off work. It's tough.
I don't really plan to sleep ever again. Ever.

Well, I was going to go to Wal-Mart. I read online they were having parties in every 24 hour store. Well, when I got there they weren't here. I probably should have called but they should have had a party. It's the main place in town to get them. Kroger's is having a smaller party at 11 which I am going to go in a few minutes. I am still mad at Wal-Mart

my plans were to go with a bunch of my friends but everyone was either sick already going with relatives,or on vacation.. ..lol..so instead i made my mom stay up all night so she could take me at 12:00 to walmart!!..lol..and of course she didn't want to and went on about how i could drive my self but then i reminded her that i still had restrictions on my licence(sp)and it was between either getting arrested or she take me..so that was the end of discussion..lol

Our midnight party was crazy! I was dressed as a Slytherin student, not Minerva like I had planned, but I couldn't get that costume together. I was running around handing out Harry glasses, tattoos, and keychains. Then I hosted one of the trivia games we had going and was impressed with how much people know. I was down to 4 questions out of about 100, before I could declare a winner! Lining up everyone was loads of fun. I was yelling over all the noise for people with certain letters on their wristbands to walk toward me and line up. There were lots of people in costume. I was surprised at how many Trelawneys there were. There was a cute little girl dressed as Fluffy and a couple and their baby, dressed as Lily, James, and baby Harry.
It was tiring, but fun. Although I could not get over how thrashed the store was after everyone left. My poor children's dept was littered with books, half-eaten food, and spilled drinks. It was not a pretty sight.
The highlight of the evening was definitely our Community Relations Manager running around wearing Minerva's tartan nightcap - the one from the movies. What made it so funny is the fact that our CRM is a man in his sixties!
