I have a question for you all:
Albus was about 17/18 when Arianna died. JKR said he was about 150 in the books. Auntie Marge is 107 at Bill and Fleur's wedding, so she can't have been alive at the time, and yet on page 129 of the British version of DH, she says:
"those of us who were alive then never knew what really happened"
Well, she can't have been alive then, can she? JKR mistake, or auntie Marge being a know-it-all?

That might be an oversight on JKR's part. She's admitted that maths isn't her forte, and let's not forget that Bellatrix's father was apparently 13 when she was born (and yes, I'm still in mourning for my favourite Death Eater.) So, yes, probably just an oversight.

It's on the Black family tree. I deal with it in a (sort of) amusing way in RaM, somewhere around ffnet chapter 60 (that's chapter 47 on Petulant Poetess). But I don't think it was Bella's father. I think it was Walburga's father (Walburga was, I believe, Sirius's mother, therefore Bella's aunt). I could look it up. Guess I will. If I do, I'll edit this post. *EDIT* Bella's father was Cygnus Black, and he was around 22 when she was born. Walburga's father was Pollux, and he was apparently 13 when Walburga was born. Here's the link: www.hp-lexicon.org/wizards/blackfamilytree.htmlI believe that JKR said somewhere that she's made mistakes like that because she no good at maths. (But subtracting years is hardly calculus . . . ) *END EDIT*
