I think it would be criminal for anyone to live life without seeing this brilliantly powerful piece of fanart - NOT BY ME - by tbranch. I'm not sure how to add images here, but that would kind of be stealing anyway, which the artist does not permit, so here's the link: tbranch.livejournal.com/159488.htmlIt's an illustration of this fantastic scene - DH SPOILERS: - - - - - "Hogwarts is threatened!" shouted Professor McGonagall. "Man the boundaries, protect us, do your duty to our school!"

The comic is really good. The "german" sentence is full of mistakes, though. I couldn't quite figure out what it's supposed to mean.

Look forward to it! And cool. lol. (now we do again. ) Heh. I think you've got me beat now! The comic is really good. The "german" sentence is full of mistakes, though. I couldn't quite figure out what it's supposed to mean. The artist went back and changed it; a lot of people noticed it too. Could you possibly tell us what it means? I recognize certain words, but others are completely unfamiliar.

The artist went back and changed it; a lot of people noticed it too. It's much better now. Could you possibly tell us what it means? I recognize certain words, but others are completely unfamiliar. Quote: "Dies ist unser Abend, meine Herren!translation: "This our evenig, gentlemen!"Für diese Generation und für alle Zeit!""For this generation and for all times coming!" - I'm not sure what this is suppost to mean because there's no verb. Heute, machen wir-"Today, we'll do-"I hope this helps.

"Für diese Generation und für alle Zeit!" I think it's meant to mean for our generation and for all future generations. I'm not sure it works in german though? You're the expert I'm well happy I understood it all before I read your trnslation. I'm doing german A level so its probably a good sign LOL. I'm curious, what did it say before the artist changed it?

Thanks for the translation, guys!
I'm afraid I haven't a clue what it said before, my cache didn't catch it. It was pretty different, though.

"Für diese Generation und für alle Zeit!" I think it's meant to mean for our generation and for all future generations. I'm not sure it works in german though? You're the expert "For our generation and for all future generations" means "Für unsere Generation und für alle zukünftigen"- but that's still no sentence. Maybe the artist wanted the two last phrases to be one sentence saying "For our generations and for all future generations, today (or rather "tonight") we'll do-" In german this would be: translation with same sentence structure as the english sentense: "Für unsere Generation und für alle zukünftigen werde wir heute (or "heute Nacht")-" better translation: "Heute Nacht werden wir, für unsere Generation und alle zukünftigen-" [/nerd] " I'm well happy I understood it all before I read your trnslation. I'm doing german A level so its probably a good sign LOL. A-Level is british, isn't it? I didn't anyone is learning German in GB. *surprised* "I'm curious, what did it say before the artist changed it? I forgot and my catch didn't catch either. PS.: Has anyone got an idea how I can tell the author without sounding like the most anoying nerd on earth?

lol just say 'I actually speak german so shut up and listen' "Für diese Generation und für alle Zeit!" I think that doesn't make good sense because it's been translated too literally from english. I always used to do that, so i can spot it when it happens now I do really like the comic strip, I don't want people to think I don't because I really do

I really love the min picture too, I forgot to comment on it in my earlier comments It's a really great picture but it's not how I imagine her. She looks very dark, kind of like Mrs. Snape rather that Mrs. (we wish) Dumbledore.
