Terrible. He said all the right things to get elected, such as 'fixing healthcare' etc. etc and then does stuff all. Then he takes money from Centrelink to increase surplas? How does that make any sense. Not to mention he's put pensioners out to dry, they can absolutely nothing. He's also done nothing to 'revoluntise' education, as he stated he would.
The labour party uses Peter Costello's blue print for the budget, then takes credit. He promises to bring interest rates down and decrease inflation, they've both gone up, by considerable amounts. People are losing their homes because of these inceases in interest rates and he says 'it will pass.' What kind of moron is he?
Sorry, the rant is over, but as you can tell I really don't like Kevin Rudd. I think he's a smarmy git of a politician who is going to run the country into the ground.

While he hasn't delivered on everything he promised - surprise, surprise, he is a politician after all - don't forget he has apologized to the Aboriginals for the Stolen Generation, something that John Howard refused to do, and something that Brendon Nelson did only with statements about all the legislation allowing the Stolen Generation to occur mostly being done with good intentions. That's a step in the right direction (Rudd, not Nelson). I'm willing to wait a few months and see some of the budget being put into effect before I decide either way. Thus far I'm not discontent.

Don't get me wrong, I don't like that the government took aboriginal children away from their mothers, but if we're apologising for that, then why aren't we apologising for all of the unwed mothers of that generation whose children were taken away? That was the norm of the day, yet no one seems to but an eyelid about it. And on the rare occassion the subject is brought up, the reasoning is 'that's what was done at the time.' If you're going to apologise for the stolen generation, you need to apologise to those unwed mothers and their children. It's only fair.
Also, let's not forget that thousands of aboriginals were murdered, often for 'fun' by government officials. I find it interesting that this is glossed over by all politicians. Surely an apology is only right for those crimes? I certainly think so.
I didn't like Howard overly much, but he did some great things for the country. The gun policy he brought into effect in particular comes to mind, but there are many others. He made a definite mistake with WorkChoices however, they were fantastic in theory, but those laws were always going to be abused. And they were abused by Kevin Rudd's wife herself!
Okay, rant over. It's been a very long day.
