Hi everyone, On Sunday, April 27th, please use this code (263533) at any Barnes & Noble. My school, along with the Baltimore diocese of the Episcopalian Church, is raising money for a village in South Africa called Itipini. In Xhosa, "Itipini" means "little dump". There are about 2,500 people quite literally living on a former garbage dump - and there is only one faucet with clean running water. Most of the residents of Itipini are women and children. We are trying to raise money to buy bread and milk for the school-aged children who live in Itipini. Here are some links to give you more information about Itipini: www.ang-md.org/christian_formation/ - this is the website of the Anglican Church in Maryland - it explains more in detail what the "Bread for Itipini" fundraiser is about. www.karlgrobl.com/Itipini/indexBW.htm - some photographs showing daily life in Itipini. mthathamission.blogspot.com/2007/10/children-of-itipini.html - the monthly blog of a young man volunteering at Itipini. It includes pictures, ways to help the residents of Itipini, and descriptions of daily life in Itipini. Please pass this message along - we are attempting to raise $10,000 on the 27th of April. The code can be used at ANY Barnes & Noble in the United States, and I believe that it can be used in other B&Ns as well.
