ok, so one of my professors who im really close to asked me to bring her bag down to her cars (you know those bags that have wheels and you can drag them?) I was kind of lazy so I just dragged it down the stairs, not lifting it. Everything seemed alright. I didn't hear anything break. But then my boyfriend was like "Babe, maybe you shouldn't do that. She might have something valuable in there." So I open it a little and, of course, her fricking labtop is in there! It didn't have any damage on it but I couldn't really check and turn it on or anything. The bag was pretty hard so it didn't seem like the labtop would take any damage, and the bag itself was fairly packed. There probably won't be anything wrong with the labtop, right? Please, someone answer this post. I'm totally freaking out here!

if the bag was packed pretty well it should be fine. just calm down, and wait if anthing happened then i am positive that your teacher will confront you. now you know better now, that you can't always take the easy way out.

Oh god, just a little nervous cuz I really can't afford to get her a new one right now. But it was packed and there wouldn't be much force to hit the labtop with and its not that hard. Plus there was no damage and labtops are pretty durable, right?

If you looked at it and it didn't look damaged, I'm sure you're fine I have dropped my laptop case more times than I care to remember and mine has always been fine-- not to mention that case contains my laptop only, and isn't very strong. I'm sure everything is fine and you have nothing to worry about.

Chill out! I seriously doubt you did any major damage. If there is the professor will ask you about it. Just take a deep breathe and calm down. Laptops are usually very durable so don't worry!!!

thanks for the reassurance guys. my boyfriend Andrew has spent the last 1/2 hour calming me down. it turns out there may have been a jacket in the bag along with the stuffed folder. Plus there wouldn't have been much room in the bag, and I wasn't going that fast or moving long enough to gather enough force to cause that much damage.
Ironically, this professor who the labtop belongs to happens to be my physics professor.

The laptop I have was given to me by my school. I carry it around without a case everyday, and it has been dropped down at least three flights of stairs. It didn't even get a scratch, don't worry about it, dear. My best friend's laptop got dropped out of a second story window into the football feild. It was fine. The kid who did it is far from fine, but the laptop is good. lmfao. Don't worry about it =)

yeah and i had to take my laptop on Vacation to do an english poem project. it was sitting on the table and i left it alone, when i came back i don't exactly know what i did but it fell onto the hard wooden floor. it was fine. plus i was smart enought to save my work b4 i left. laptops are pretty strong. like i oncl spilled my soda next to it and some got on it but it was fine. so don't worry about it.

Don't worry so much. Laptops are made pretty well. I have a cheapo and I dropped mine down the stairs and it was fine.
