Rating: PG
Summary: Albus and Minerva's first romantic encounter.
A/N: Based on a scene from the movie "The Last of the Mohicans". Don't own the movie, the book, or any HP-related stuff.
He is at yet another Ministry ball, though he has no desire to be there – but then he sees her in the corner, and he moves slowly towards her, skirting the crowds of people who seem to be doing their utmost to keep him from reaching her side.
Minerva McGonagall is leaning against a wall in an inconspicuous corner of the ballroom, her eyes scanning the crowd for someone. When he finally reaches her side and slips an arm around her waist, she turns to him, surprised, but relaxes in his embrace.
Albus takes her hand and leads her into a secluded corridor, where they both lean against the wall, their shoulders touching, as he lifts his hand to her cheek and strokes it gently. She closes her eyes and leans into his touch, sighing as his thumb brushes over her lips gently. She opens her eyes as he takes her face in both his hands, and they gaze at each other for a few moments before their lips meet in their first kiss.
They break for air, but they kiss again, each subsequent embrace growing more passionate and urgent. When they finally pause, he leans down to rest his forehead against hers, allowing him to stare into her deep green eyes.
“I love you,” he says, and her hand moves up to his face, caressing his cheek, as she replies.
“I love you, too,” she tells him, and their lips meet again. Once more they begin to kiss, and he Apparates them away so that they can consummate their love in private.
The next morning, the two lovers watch the sun rise in the east, celebrating a new day and a new life for them both.
