Minerva’s Song

Say the words, and I’ll be with you forever
As our arms entwine around one another
Love does not in some way have a need to be rational
Yet the words must be spoken before one is gullible
Three simple words can cause much unneeded strife
That may continue on throughout the next life
But please remember that you are far from being alone
For this statement still may leak during a simple sojourn
The question is now, by me or by you, who knows who will crack first
The truth at least from me is near escaping, and ready to burst.
You are the lion, and I am the swan
For when I see you, these words are my song.

Oh wow! This received interest, and I just let it go....
Such is the life of a wandering author! Thank you three for reviewing it, and yes, Tabby[hearts], you may as long as you credit me. I'm Skrewtkeeper on fanfiction... ;D

And so, here is the long-awaited response (yes, Albus wrote one too! I apologize for any error this may have--- I wrote it quite a while ago...--- if anyone cares to know, the number of syllables matches the syllables in "Minerva's Song". I like to make things special.)

Love Flouts All

You rule the class in a strong yet subtle way
Once you draw near me, I forget what to say.
Your beauty is magnified by such great counts every night,
Though you excuse my compliments as a trick of the light.
Love flouts all; how can I explain this to you?
The thought of stating such love between us two
Causes me to abandon my Gryffindor bravery
And instead I gaze at you longingly and Waverley
Your smile seizes, with force, my breath and induces my heart to ache
As long as I knew I had you and your love, I’d never forsake.
I am the lion, and you are the swan
When I see you, my poem lies forgotten.
