By a lucky chance I got to watch "Capturing Mary" and saved a few screenshots for a banner: Mary(another film where she is on the verge of a nervous breakdown...)

I love these banners, my favorites so far are Gosford Park, Transfiguration and Headmistress. Could you please do one with Maggie Smith as Lady Ames from the Missionary???

Hi, I am very happy, you like my banners; I haven't done Lady Ames because I had no opportunity to watch The Missionary yet... But as you like it ;D - here I go (sadly I couldn't find a bigger sized pic to start with...) Lady AmesI take it, that you like the movie...maybe I should spent real money on the DVD...?? So far I have tucked "Curtain Call" away for under the Xmas-tree...

Aah!! You got to see "Capturing Mary"?!?!? I'm so jealous - how was it? This was really crazy....I watched the film in 8-9 min bits on Youtube (watching, loading, waiting...) - quite uncomfortable, but I just needed to know... The next day the clips had been removed for Copyright-reasons (I wondered about that while I watched)....so, lucky me ;D To tell the truth, this film is for Maggie-fans only! No plot but her, telling her life's story to an indian Houseboy in a big London mansion...how as a young aspiring journalist she had a traumatic experience in this house - and now as an old woman finally just has to come back there to face her demons. The young man turns out to be a very caring listener and at the end even meets with her in the park the next day, to make sure she really is alright (she had confessed to having experienced a nervous breakdown there on the morning before she came to the mansion). Maggie's breakdown-scene on the parkbench is not quite as spectacular as the one at the altar in "The lonely passion of Judith Hearne" - but just as heart-wrenching (What exactly gave her the trauma I didn't get , being no native speaker and watching the film the way I did...)

Thank you, now I have another favorite . I love that film, I think Maggie looks really beautiful as Lady Ames, I wish I'd look like that . I watched Capturing Mary on Youtube too. I think she got the trauma because of the horrible things this man told her in the wine cellar. She felt that now that she knew those things, she couldn't tell anybody, but she couldn't forget either, he had power over her. In fact this man, what ever he was called, used his power to have her fired. At least that's the way I understood it, being not a native speaker either....

I love all of these. They really show what a strong actress she is and how well she portrays emotion. Great job.

Finally I have been able to watch "The Prime of Miss Jean Brodie" (as the DVD is available only for region 1, but a friend has a player which can read that ;D ). So now I created the banner for my series: Miss Jean BrodieIt has never been so difficult to decide which screenshots to use....there are so many great photos of her in it

I got to see another film "David Copperfield", the BBC miniseries, and so here is the banner (the film is incredibly cute to watch, for HP fans especially, as young Daniel Radcliffe gets to act with three actresses, he will later see as Hogwarts teachers *gg*) Aunt Betsy
