Challenge #98: Ends 9/29/08

Albus had to make lots of hard decisions, some of which earned him criticism. Describe Minerva's reaction to any one such decision or event, and how the two of them proceed from there. It would be best if they were already together in some committed way, though not strictly required.

Possibilities: Albus leaving Harry w/ the Dursleys; allowing Harry to compete in the Tri-Wizard Tournament; allowing Harry & the Trio to pursue their questions about the Sorcerer's Stone; the reaction to Sirius's stunt at the Shrieking Shack in the Marauder era. Other possibilities, not decisions per se but tough moments for Albus--how does he share them w/ Minerva and how does she react? ...such as when he realizes Harry is probably a Horcrux, or when Harry destroys his office at the end of OotP, or when Albus returns from hunting the Peverell ring w/ his cursed hand.

You get the idea....Tough times, possibly flawed or mistaken Albus--how does Minerva react and what is the impact on ADMM?

Oooo ... I've got another idea. I was thinking how Minerva would react if she knew Albus planned his death. Is that a possiblity or does Albus need to be alive and in the flesh or can she get mad at his portrait?

That's a great idea. Basically I'm hoping for anything that shows how the MM half of MMAD reacts to some questionable judgment or action by AD, andhow it affects their relationship. And Portrait!Albus counts. As Dead!Albus said to Limbo!Harry, "Just because it's all in your head, that doesn't mean it's not real." (or something like that--I don't have DH right in front of me!) So even if it's a monologue in Minerva's heart and head, I think it would count.

Hi, I don't know if this counts, but if you're looking for a story like that, there is a perfect multi-chapter fic on ff.net abt this, even if you don't count it for the challenge, it's worth a read ... if you're interested!
