Hi, I thought I'd post this cuz I'm extremely interested in travelling and getting to know people, seeing new places ... I wonder if any of you are because we're all from such a variety of places? If you are, post here about where you live, hows the place, if that is your homeland, etc... You could upload pics as well ... not personal ones, just monuments or landscapes ... Lemme know, I'll post as soon as anyone replies. Cheers!

Hies!! I'll be the first to reply then. I live in Singapore. Depending on your likes, it can be really fun, or boring. For me, it is boring, since there isn't an ice skating rink that is near my house. Singapore is rather nice, if you don't bored the trains at ~7am and ~5pm, since there is usually a huge squeeze. The sports facilities are pretty good too. Though one thing you have to look out for is random bits of faeces that litter the sidewalks on a bad day. x.x Here are some pictures: The area around my house when it rains... Wow! Singapore looks awesome! Lol, abt the faeces, it happens a lot around Asia ! Umm, the place where I live is VERY hot, the temperature is never below 20 degree celcius, lol, its nice for all those of you who love the sunny weather and are sick of rain! I'll post the pics tomorrow with more info, there's an assignment I need to catch up on! Cheers!

Right, I'm back! Okay, so I live in Dubai ... um, *hearsheadscratching* it's this tiny Arabian city in the Gulf in a country called the UAE. Its basically a desert, but thanks to the vision of a so-called great ruler and abundant oil resources, they've managed to change the sandy landscape into a more greener place. Of course outside the cities, there's still pretty much desert everywhere. Dubai is a great place if you love shopping, sunbathing, swimming because its got innumerable well maintained beaches and really great malls. Here are the pictures- This is the Al Bidiya Mosque; the oldest mosque in the country; pretty well maintained and all, though, in accordance with the Muslim culture, women are not allowed in. *muttersaboutsexistpeople* It is surrounded by a watch tower and dates back to I-don't-know-when. This is the Burj Dubai; Arabic for Tower of Dubai; its gonna be the tallest building in the world when it's done, with around 155 floors. It is also the centre of a to-be township. This is the inside of the Mall of the Emirates, its the second largest mall in the region and has got an indoor snow park and ski, pretty big acheivement in the desert, imo, for I have never seen snow. This is the beach, where locals fish. This pic was taken immediately after the evening catch; where thousands of seagulls swarm over the catch. This is the view from my 6th floor apartment at sunset. Theres the park and beyond that the sea. Everyone lives in apartments here, except the millionares who can afford bungalows and stuff. I'll be posting more ... soon. Cheers!

Harharhar! Sorry, lol ;D! Yeah, Dubai is this tiny place, but everyone says its really famous ... I never thought you'd have heard of it, so it was a surprise. Lol, abt the building, when you've lived in Dubai as long as I have (which is ever since I was six months old) you get thouroughly bored with construction. Dubai is completely devoid in historical sites and natural beauty (unless you count sand) so they try to make it up by constructing cool man made stuff - like this underwater hotel, manmade islands in shape of a palm tree, rotating buildings, yada, yada, yada. I suppose living in the city for so many years has made me bored of it, lol, I prefer historical sites and greenery. Oh yeah, you guys can put up pics of holidays as well, I post my pics of my recent trip to Mumbai in India soon. Cheers!

*Jealous* I love Dubai! I've heard lots about it becoming the next big thing. x) Though I would never live there, it is too hot for me. Even Singapore is too humid for my liking... Oh, and I shall post some pics from my trip to HK last Dec. The airport. My aunt's place at Aberdeen. This... I think it is somewhere near a huge bookstore. I can't remember exactly. Though I remembered that there was this Thai place near it. My aunt's apartment. ;D On the Cable Car Moi after watching the Nutcraker Ballet at the Cultural center At the airport... or somewhere around there.

Wow, I didn't know so many of you knew about Dubai! Yeah, word's around that it'll be the next big thing ... lol, anyway, I'll post more pictures tonight, I have to finish my fanfic, it's been ages since I've written ... Oh, HK looks sooooooooooo pretty ... I love the mountains and the cablecar shot is awesome ... what are those mountains called? I read about the Grand Prix in the papers today, it's got amazing airshots of the racetrack, simply breathtaking! Cheers!

Lemme see, I live in the Philippines. Although some people thinks it's a dangerous country, considering the Muslim secessionists causing trouble down south. But if you go to the right places, you'll find the country a beautiful place. I'm a city-girl, but I knew where to go in these provinces listed below. Good places to go: -Baguio (cool breeze, nice scenery) -Boracay (beaches and night life!) -Bohol (Chocolate hills and beaches) -Tagaytay (same reason as Baguio) -Cebu (oldest city, many religious places from Spanish era) -Negros Oriental (peaceful place, many lagoons and waterfalls, you can also find St. Paul - Dumaguete and Siliman University there)

Hmm, Phillipines sounds very tempting ... ... Oh, is there a chocolate covered hill ... sry, I'm a chocaholic, lol! That historical site sounds interesting, put up some pics if you can ... Oh, I've got more pics ... This is a wind tower, used to cool the locals houses in pre-AC times, by pouring cold water on the floor and allowing wind to blow across it. This is the Emirates road which links Dubai and the capital ... see the construction boom I was talking about? Sunset at Al Ain, which is an oasis. This pic was taken while we descended from the mountains. The locals in the village, also called Bedoins. Cheers!

Wow, it's been a while since I've been on. The places everyone lives and the pictures are awesome! I would love to go to Dubai in the future. My history prof told us about an indoor ski resort that's being constructed (or has already been built). I haven't looked it up recently, so I don't exactly remember.
As of now, I live in two places: Minnesota (permament) and Montana (during the school year) USA, of course. The climates in both places are fairly temperate, although Montana is much drier than Minnesota and not quite as cold in the winter.
I used to think my home state was the most boring one ever to exist, but living in Montana has made me realize how awesome MN really is. The fall colors in Montana are nothing compared to those back home nor is all the greenery. Minnesota, however does not have any mountains, which is a nice trade off at times. There is hardly any traffic in MT which is great. Traffic really bites back home!!
If I can get the pics to come up, they'll be in the next post. I took most of them from various road trips in the past couple of years.

i live in southern new jersey, but since nothing here is interesting, i'll put up some pictures of philly. i live about ten or fifteen minutes away from the city.
this is olde city- <a href="http://photobucket.com/images/philadelphia" target="_blank"><img src="http://i468.photobucket.com/albums/rr41/boikdaddy/Buildings%20and%20Cityscapes/Philadelphia/DSC00301.jpg" border="0" alt="Philadelphia Pictures, Images and Photos"/></a> olde city is a combination of touristy museums, tours, and places to visit combined with, in my opinion, some of the most beautiful houses in philidelphia. <a href="http://photobucket.com/images/philadelphia" target="_blank"><img src="http://i468.photobucket.com/albums/rr41/boikdaddy/Buildings%20and%20Cityscapes/Philadelphia/Camden.jpg" border="0" alt="Philadelphia Pictures, Images and Photos"/></a> above is a veiw of camden from across the river. camden is a city in south jersey, literally ten minutes from my doorstep. it's not exactly the best town, but whatever. you can still have fun there. <a href="http://photobucket.com/images/reading%20terminal%20market" target="_blank"><img src="http://i159.photobucket.com/albums/t157/beespajamas/DSCF0456.jpg" border="0" alt="Reading Terminal Market Pictures, Images and Photos"/></a> i didnt take this; but it's a realllly cool shot of reading terminal market. they have THE most amazing cannoli's ever.
and don't let anyone from philly ever, EVER trick you into getting a philly cheese steak at pat's or geno's. they are TOURIST TRAPS. DO NOT DO IT.
i highly recommend south street steaks, which is obviously on south street, or the steak place at the back of reading terminal market; which is righttt outside of china town near the convention center.
yahknow, if anyone is planning on going into the city anytime soon.
