Author's Note: Not all words/ actions are the same as the movie. I tried to make them as moderately close as I could. Thanks to dianahawthorne for this plotbunny.
Who Really Did It...
They were all sitting around the table, Milo Perrier and his chauffeur, Sidney Wang and his adopted son Willie, Jessica Marbles and her nurse, Dick and Dora Charleston, Sam Diamond, and Tess Skeffington, were all waiting for 12:00 to see what happened. Finally, after waiting for what seemed like an eternity, the clock struck 12:00 and everyone breathed out a sigh of relief that no one was killed by Lionel Twain, the owner of the estate. Then they heard a knock at the wooden, double doors.
"Oh that must be the maid. Come in!" Dora called.
"I don't think she heard you, dear." her husband replied."The maid is stone deaf."
Sam Diamond got up to open the door and Lionel Twain fell with many stab wounds in his back.
"Willie," Sidney Wang said. "Clean up this mess."
"Why do I always have to do the dirty work?" Willie complained.
"Because your mother is not hear to do it," his father replied.
They all went out into the living room as Willie covered up the body.
"Well, it has to be the maid who killed him," Dora said. "She was the only one that wasn't in the room besides the butler, and he's blind, so he couldn't have done it."
"No, it wasn't the maid." Sam pulled out a trunk that contained plastic pieces of a dummy that resembled the maid.
"I found this on my way to the can."
"So one of us in here is the murderer," declared Jessica.
They all started accusing each other.
"Well you just wanted the money didn't you Charleston?" Sam accused.
"Not true. I would never kill a man for his money." Dick replied. "But what I do know is that Twain was Sidney Wang's adopted father."
"Yes, that is why I adopt all my children, but I didn't do it."
"You weren't on good terms with Twain either were you, Frenchie?" Sam turned to Milo.
"He killed my poodle!" Milo cried. "He was an evil man, I would've killed him, but someone here beat me to it. Maybe, Jessica Marbles, who was once Monsieur Twain's lover!"
They all turned to look at Jessica.
"Yes, I was his lover, but he wanted to fool around before the wedding. I broke it off with him, but I wouldn't kill him." she replied curtly.
"And you Miss Skeffington." Dick turning to Tess. "Wasn't Twain your uncle?"
"Yes,"she admitted. "We were very close. But I didn't kill him."
"Well what about you Mr Diamond?" Dora asked.
"I've got my reasons."
"Oh Sam, just tell them." Tess said. "He and Lionel met at a gay bar."
"You bitch." Sam replied angrily.
"Why don;t we sleep on it? We figure it out in morning." Sidney suggested.
They all went off to their rooms, to find traps. A different one in each room, that could kill them. Snakes, scorpions, gas, bombs, and a falling ceiling. They escaped, but just barely. The scorpion bit Dora, Ms Marbles nurse inhaled the gas, the bomb exploded in Tess's face, and the ceiling damaged Milo's back. They were hurt, but safe. They ended up in the study where they found the blind butler.
"Ha! I knew it was you." Sidney said.
"How?"
"Used old method. Butler did it."
"Actually, it's the real Sam Diamond." Tess said.
They continued to argue about who was the real killer, until they heard the butler whistle and call for their attention.
"No one is getting the money because," he paused. "I am Lionel Twain." He peeled off his butler mask to reveal the face of Lionel Twain. Everyone gasped in amazement. "You fools," he laughed. "Now the world will know I defeated the greatest detectives there ever was. No one will want to ever see your books, with surprise endings again. Now get out of here, your bill will be sent to you later."
They grumbled angrily as they exited. As they were leaving, two people stayed behind.
"Dickey, you false Lionel Twain was a brilliant idea, and no one will ever know we killed him."
"Thank you, my darling Dora. Now get the money and leave before anyone notices we are gone."
The End.
