Hi! Okay, the matter of Dumbledore's boggart has me thouroughly confused. JK said in the live chat that his boggart was Ariana's dead body. But, in OotP, Molly Weasley's boggart shows the dead bodies of all her different family members ie. she dreaded their deaths. But Ariana is already dead, no? So, how on earth can Dumbledore be dreading it? Like Harry, he must fear seeing her death all over again, so his boggart should be a Dementor right? Am I just insane? Hmm, I don't even know if what I wrote makes sense to you all. Can someone explain or am I right in thinking Jo messed up AGAIN? Cheers! ;D

I think that it's more like he feared his feelings of guilt for her death, because JKR, or the book I really can't remember which, said that he felt like her death was his fault. So I think it's just his grief and guilt that makes it his worst fear. Even though we all know it's Minerva's dead body he would see, since they are in love... Yes I will never leave the happy land of denial!

Noooooooooooooooo! Even if Albus did feel guilty, his Boggart would probably be replaying the scene of the Grindelwald duel, showing his curse killing Ariana! Not her dead body!
Ah, JK is so confusing! Someone explain!

Seriously, don't take JKR's words on the live chat too serioursly. She flips her mind on certain things several times. Remember AD's age? She said once that it was around 150-ish. Now, she's saying he's 120(?), or something much younger. Unless its actually written in a book, don't take JKR for real.

I think i's fersher fersher Ariana's body, simply because boggarts aren't able to recreate battle scenes/

Ok... well perhaps he simply feared seeing her dead body again, because the first time it was so traumatic and sad for him.

Like others said maybe he sees her body out of guilt. I was thinking that it's not exactly Ariana's death he's fearing, but what Ariana's body represents. He feels that he was responsible for her death and he dreads making that mistake again for another person. Just my two cents.

Yay! Thank you, everyone for the wonderful responses! Everyone's theory makes perfect sense! I understand much better now ... though I am inclined to agree with kissofdeath. Thanks for all the replies!
