Do I have this right? I found out McGonagall was 29 when she started working at Hogwarts...?
I took the date of when the last book took place (1997) and subtracted that form Minerva's age (70) Then took that and subtracted it from the date she started working at Hogwarts (1956) Which gave me 29.... Is that correct? I feel like I'm wrong....

Minerva was 70 at the time of Sorcerer's Stone. She was 77 in DH. She was around 36 when she started working at Hogwarts.

She was born in 1925 - that would make her 55 when Harry was born; 65 when the Trio started school, (sorry ... going forwards) and she was 91 in the Epilogue. JKR (we don't have to trust her...) said Minerva was born in October of 1925 so she would've started the year she turned twelve (1937) and then she would've graduated in the spring/summer of 1944. She started teaching in December of 1956 (from OotP reference) so she would've turned 31 about two months earlier. This is based mostly on the books and the Lexicon where I go my time lines but I don't know if it's right.
