Well, I just want to know what people think. I am very curious. There are such young mothers these days. This idea came to me after a chat in the chat box. (Again) ~Silver Tabby Kitten P. S. I do not want to offend anyone, dear ones. If I am or have, I am truly sorry! Until later dear ones!

Wow, tough question. I think it really depends on the woman. What about our ancestors who were having children young (and having many) when the family needed hands to work the farm, etc.? It is scary today, especially when you consider that some girls reach puberty as young as 7 years old. This trend is not going to get better! I voted 18 (but I was 38)

I put sixteen because I know too many people much younger than that who had kids.

I put 24 and up. Yes, I do know of people, personally, who have gotten pregnant at younger ages. But, I feel that people should really wait for a few years after high school and college to begin a family.

I also chose 24 and up to and totally agree with tabbyhearts. I think that 20 is really young to get pregnant although I know some girls/young woman who got pregnant at young ages... I think we young ones ( I'm 18) should first of all enjoy life to the fullest (not that you cannot enjoy life with a child but it's something different when you are alone and independent) and go to university or get a job or something like that but they should really learn something useful. Hope it made any sense...

I was 22 when I had my son. At this time I was at university and therefore able to make my own timetable. This way I could to have a family and a career and I'm still convinced it was a good thing to do.

24 and above. Really, it's sensible for both the mom and the child.

I voted for 20, but Hannie raises a very fine point on the fact that it depends on the person that the mother is.
I mean I know a girl who became pregnant when we were 16, (well she was 15 when she found out) but she's really happy with her daughter.
So I think that so long as you know where your relationship is going with your significant other, then when is the age where you are considered too young to be a mother is slightly mute.
