How are you like Minerva?

I was thinking about why it is exactly Minerva is my favorite character. I can't remember the exact moment she became my favorite since it was so long ago that I first started reading the books. It then hit me that it was because I can relate a lot to Minerva. Then I wondered if that is why all of us love her so much. So I was just wondering how you are all like Minerva.

Here is how I am (in my opinion):
I am very sarcastic (but not in a completely brutal way)
I am more introverted with my feelings and don't really like people to know extremely personal things
I have a temper (hey I'm a redhead, what can I do?)
I have three younger sisters and a younger brother, so I am a take-charge sort of person
I stand up for myself and others
I don't let people boss me around if they have no right to
and
I really am kind, even if it doesn't always seem like it

And then here are some random superficial ways:
I also wear glasses
I love plaid (And I only have a smidgen of Scottish in me, so I really have no idea why)
I have green eyes (although they sometimes go grey or blueish (hence "grey-eyedgirl"))
I have ridiculously straight posture, because I am a dancer
And (since I am a dancer) my hair is usually in a bun of some kind

So, now that I have shared, I am really curious to know how you all are like Minerva too!

Well...I'm more like Albus than I am Minerva, but there are a few similarities.

Personality wise:
I can be sarcastic, but this is very rare now (I was more sarcastic before, but I've toned down).
I am very introverted, but there is one person I tell all my thoughts to.
I don't get mad very easily, but I do have a terrible temper once it snaps. Now that I think about it that can be compared to Albus....
I am a take charge person as well (mainly because no one else will do it).

Superficial ways:
I wear square glasses! Well, actually I picked square glasses because of Minerva.
I like plaid as well, but I don't have that much of it.
I have green eyes!

But like I said before. I'm more like Albus most of the time.

I really don't know. Here's a few that I can think of:

I tend to keep my feelings in. (Except in extreme situations....)
I enjoy reading.
I like biscuits. (Not ginger newts.)
I wear glasses (I have a square-ish pair and a not-so-squareish pair.)
I stand up for myself and what I believe in (like ADMM).
I tend to wear my hair in a pony-tail or loose bun.

Minerva McGonagall is my favourite character by far, together with Elinor Loredan (inkheart). I think we always pick characters that, at least partially, resemble our own character.


- I am a teacher.
- I don't believe in coddling my students but I'd do everything in
my power to help them and be just.
- I'm always told I am a rather mature and strict person with high
morals.
- I always take the side of things I believe in even though it
might be a lost cause.
- I'm not afraid to speak my mind, if it's worth it.
- I try to solve all the problems that occur on my own.
- I risk a lot for my family and friends without thinking of myself.
- I have four younger siblings, that makes me a take charge
person too.
- Injustice makes me furious.
- I simply can't believe in divination
- I can get rather sarcastic and nasty if somebody behaves like
a fool.
- I looooovvvveee books


- I have green eyes.
- At school, I always wear my hair in a bun, to keep it out of
my way.

Oh what a good thread, now we need one asking how are we like Albus,

I find it fascinating that so many people consider Minerva introverted, for myself I tend to think of her as more extroverted, but perhaps that is because to me introvert tends to mean shy and lacking confidence around others, which Minerva defintely isn't imo. But if introverted means not liking people to see your feelings then that is more Minerva - though she certainly lets people know her feelings when angered lol.

Albus is actually my favourite character, though Minerva is a very close second.

I'm like Minerva in these ways -

I'm hot tempered, and when I get mad I snap at people, or yell a lot.

I'm very good at fiercesome glares.

I tend to lecture people if annoyed.

I can be sarcastic, and can be quite cutting.

Underneath I have a kind heart, which I tend to keep well hidden.

I'm strong willed and determined.

I'm independant.

I loathe unfairness or injustice.

Well that's it, a pleasant distraction from the fanfic I really ought to be writing. If I could be like Minerva in one way it would be her amazing courage, I, by comparison am a total wimp.

I don't know about other people, but what I mean by introverted is more with my feelings then personality. I don't really like people to see me upset or embarrassed, so I usually just keep that to myself, and rarely cry in front of people. I also hate it when people feel sorry for me, I just can't stand it for some reason.

It's so cool though how we all are so similar in personality! That may be why everyone gets along so well, and maybe why I feel so comfortable and accepted on this board.

I keep most of my feelings to myself: I NEVER cry in public and when I loose my temper, I snap at everyone and I yell A LOT, but I usually calm down rapidly... though not all the time
I've got two cats!!! I love cats!! And I'm a bit catlike: I hate dogs (truly, though the word is more "terrified") and dogs LOATHE me...

I am 100% Scottish and a little bit TOO patriotic
I have green eyes
I tend to bottle up, I don't like others seeing me as anything but strong, despite this I do have the (very) occasional emotional moment of weakness
I have a HUUUUUUGE love of cats (my current cat is jet black and called Arthur)
I aspire to being respected (and maybe a little bit feared)

A temper that flares up when people are stupid
