A/N:: This is based upon the Josh Kelly song, "To Make You Feel My Love", that emeraldeyes sent me. It was initially supposed to be a songfic, but I couldn't quite get the lyrics to fit around the song. Forgive me for the fic being a little shorter than I had expected. Please R&R.

A tall figure stood overlooking the Hogwarts grounds. Despite the darkened, threatening clouds and the pouring rain, Albus Dumbledore knew immediately that he would be able to find her here. Had anyone else saw her, they would easily have mistaken her for a life-size stone statue. Her arms were folded in a thoughtful manner, and her eyes were fixed intently upon something in the distance. Albus paused over her shoulder.
"I thought I'd find you here, Minerva."
She remained silent, but a slight change in her posture acknowledged his presence. Minerva pushed back the damp locks of hair clung to her face. Albus placed his arm across her back. She moved closer in his embrace, suddenly needing his comfort but willing herself not to show it.
Minerva fought the tears she felt building up inside her. She could not believe Albus had finally said he loved her but then told her he would be leaving to find Voldemort's Horcruxes. It was then that, without another word, she fled to this very spot.
"What if you don't return?" she said flatly. Her words hung in the misty air. Albus took her hand.
"Then I am thankful that I got the chance to tell you how I feel."
Minerva closed her eyes and squeezed Albus's hand. A cool breeze swept across the grounds, chilling her to the bone.
"Would you like to come inside? I don't want you catching a cold."
Minerva shook her head. She dared not look at him for fear of what she might have seen in his eyes.
"I never meant to hurt you," he said in a low voice.
"I know."
Minerva always knew the day would come when Albus could no longer come back to her, but this was far too soon. She felt guilty for the things she never said or did before, but she knew that nothing could stop him from going.
"If there is anything I can do for you before I leave..."
Minerva wanted to be selfish for one moment in her life, but she could not bring herself to do so. She wanted to beg him to stay, forget Voldemort... but no. She knew that what Albus did, he did it for love. He would fight to the end equally for his love for mankind and his love for her. Albus had never made her feel second best to anyone. Minerva turned to him and stared into his eyes.
"Promise me that you'll be careful."
"I promise," he said and kissed her hand.
She wrapped her arms around Albus's shoulders and inhaled deeply. He smelled of lemon sweets and hot chocolate. He smoothed her hair in a calming, nurturing way. Minerva leaned forward and kissed his lips. A jolt of emotion shot through her, pumping in her veins. She caught his eye and knew he felt it too. She took a deep breath.
"I love you too, Albus. I've always loved you."
Albus held out his arm, and she took it. They walked back inside the castle together, arm in arm, for the very last time.
